MANDATE RAW + ENGLISH SOFT SUB (EP 1-4) for those who are interested

so after a whole morning of scouring the internet, i have finally found one ads-filled thai grey streaming site that uploads the complete raw + bad retail english sub provided by monomax so i ripped it off of there, nixed the soft engsubs into the raw files and put them up for downloads HERE.

for ease of streaming purposes, i've also archived these on ok.ru HERE (subs are still processing for ep 1-3 so they might take some hours, feel free to check back at a later time).

note: the subs aren't the best because they come from monomax themselves and i don't think there's any fansubber team willing to take on the role of cleaning these subs up so this is all we got, you can consider it a show for thai listening practice ಥ_ಥ

This was a DAMN. GOOD. SHOW. One little teensy spoiler below! I almost blew my top when this happened.

I yelled IRL! I wanted to cry and punch a damn wall. But the ending was far more satisfying than the feelings that this screenshot engendered.

I have barely watched anything new from Thailand this year, but even with my beloved Love in the Moonlight airing now, I will call Mandate my best show from Thailand of this year. Someone tell me/fight me if they disagree and if there was something from Thailand I should have watched instead (BL or not BL).

Well done to Monomax for offering us a critical, surgical dissection of politics and the utter idiocies of adult egos running amok. I think the original marketing of this show was slick: BL news outlets were hailing this show as an age-gap BL with the premiere of Boy Pakorn in a Y series, and the return of Ben Bunyapol, last from Step by Step.

HOWEVER: Mandate is not a traditional Thai BL. I repeat, Mandate is not a traditional BL. That it was originally marketed as a BL, but is instead a VERY politics-first drama, seems smartly sneaky as a means of allowing Monomax to stream a show that is HIGHLY critical of the Thai parliamentary process (I think if this content was broadcast on television during primetime slots, it would have been very, very censored, or not aired at all). It's bigly critical of politics and politicians. I know news outlets like GQ Thailand identify the show as a Series Y: I'd take issue with that, but I also wouldn't fight the production team that knows it would HAVE to call the series a Series Y in order to get it aired. I understand this reasoning.
