Hey Petty! You're watching A Dog and a Plane right? Is New's character Kanit looking like a Red Rascal to you? He's been wearing a lot of red in these first two eps!

When the pilot trailer came out in 2024, someone asked me about it, and I thought it could be.

My guess was maybe orange and blue or cool x warm.

I thought orange for the flight attendant flying in planes in the sky close to the sun.

And blue for the dog who is an EMT down on earth.

Because even when the dog turned into a pilot, he was still blue.

But Director Jojo (with his co-conspirator Cinematographer Rath) focuses more on the style of clothing rather than the color of it.

Like Never Let Me Go.

But That Summer was a bit color coded.

And Fadel, Bison, and Mother were clearly color coded in The Heart Killers while Kant and Style were not.

So I thought it was still possible in this show.

Because it seemed like it.

Perhaps Kanit could be a Red Rascal.

And Toto could still be the Blue Boy I thought he was from the pilot trailer.

But Jojo hates me.

And the colors.

(Actually, he really likes colors, which means he just hates me.)

So, no. I do not think it is color coded.

But I do think Jojo has a thing against briefs.

He seems like a strictly boxers or boxer-briefs kinda guy.

That's the only thing I feel confident about that.

My demon lord boss dumped 100+ presentation slides in my lap to translate and format so I had lots of time this week!

Bias? SHOWNU! Like I knew it would be him the second I saw him but now I know, you know? Although! There is a very good chance Honey (his name is Honey right? does he go by Honey?) and his very cute dimples will come for him eventually. But right now? Shownu all the way.

(Side note that is truly meant with love, there were a couple times I had to pause and make sure Pitbull wasn't on a song because sometimes Honey sounds like Pitbull when he raps and also Pitbull really was on a song that one time)

Looking at my faves, my titles to b-sides ratio favors the b-sides. Was absolutely *DEVASTATED* to learn that neither Wildfire nor Lone Ranger have an mv, especially Lone Ranger. I would've also loved one for Secrets and Myself.

FANTASIA AND FOLLOW ARE THE EXACT KIND OF FUN ASS-SHAKING GOOD TIME I WAS LOOKING FOR! They also have this very specific vibe that makes me think they would be excellent world cup songs.

Love Gambler, love Who Do U Love, love Baby Blue. I really want One Day to be the OST for a slightly toxic second chance romance BL.

All in all I'm having a whale of a time!

Shownu okay I'll jot that down. I love that man so much. He's genuinely a gem. Honey's stage name is actually Joohoney which is a pretty recent change. At first he was just going by his name Jooheon. I love him a lot too. Personally my bias is I.M but that's just on paper. I'm a homie hopper for sure.

Monsta X really be putting out bangers and my favorite thing is listening to Honey and I.M rap back-to-back.

Lately I've been blasting Guess Who, Ghost, Crescendo, Destroyer, Beautiful Liar, and N the Front a lot and I just be in the car thinking 'GOTDAMN I love this group!'

I feel like summertime is the perfect time to get into them because a lot of their songs give off summer vibes. I'm so glad you're having a good time.

*IF* I was watching Journey with You, Pei Yanzhi coughing blood in episode six would be the moment I'd start stressing about a tragic ending.

But because I'm *NOT* watching it, I'm just going to believe it's a beautiful and bright happy ending for these color-coded boys in love.

In more than one way.

Because things just seem better for both of them now that they are slowly getting on the same "we can't let the crowned prince win" page and the "we love each other in a very homosexual way" page.

Even though they are still being watched by the evil crowned prince, their unexpressed love helped them the first time around with the aid of the wolf's tooth, so hopefully the second time around, they'll be even stronger.

Pei Yanzhi is still being secretive, but he has always loved Yin Qi which can been seen as he partly wears Yin Qi's color while he asks for Boss Lin to help him protect the fifth prince.

And he has more barriers with his uncle now than he did before.

But also, the boys seem to be aligning their colors.

They both bare the same mark as a reminder for their mistake in the past life of not trusting each other.

And now, even though one is still dark and the other is light, they both wear shades of blue.

Which reminds me of another person in blue who might get a second chance to right the errors of the past.

By redirecting the future.

When Boss Lin was younger, she was a strong and loyal Blue Beauty.

And she was in love with a beautiful Pink Person.

That beautiful Pink Person was gifted with many talents.

Yet she wanted to fight, so the Blue Beauty taught her.

But the Pink Person caught the attention of the Emperor and was forced into a cage at the royal palace never to see the Blue Beauty again.

Years later, she would die in a beautiful pink room in the palace.

With a reminder of their love.

And she would leave behind a daughter who equaled her in talent and beauty.

But with a pretty color of her own.

Who also wished to be free.

And her loyal Blue Beauty would go on to raise a Blue Beauty of her own.

Whose fighting skills could rival her aunt's.

So *IF* I was watching, I'd be rooting for the color-coded boys AND girls to get a second chance at love.

Is A Dog and A Plane lowkey about colorism??? Like the class factor is obvious, but…

Our beautiful Rescue Team boys are all actors with darker skin (as far as the Thai entertainment industry is concerned). Tay, Mond, Tui, even newbie Juno. Meanwhile, Newwie and Ryu are some of the most porcelain looking dolls at gmmtv, and they’re getting called “tofu face” and “polar bear” here. (yes, I know the Polcasan reference but words can do double duty.)

They might just be typecasting based on stereotypes, but Jojo’s demonstrated a lot of interest in this issue in the past, and his Only Friends cowriter Den just brought it up in an interview, so I’m staying attentive.
