I did rewatch ep 8 again last night (because I'm insane) and let me tell you what set me off this time...the bathroom makeout scene. Long post so I'll add a "Keep reading"

You know Jay essentially lures Sun into that bathroom and corners him like he likes to do. Of course not without reason, ultimately he summons Sun to give him something to help him and Kajorn but also he wants to continue to push against Sun's emotional defenses because at this point he can see a crack in the wall.

After Jay kisses Sun and Sun pushes back Jay immediately accuses him of playing a victim and that no one is forcing him into any situation. And it's sort of true, Sun knows he can escape if he wants to...he's done it before.

The look on Sun's face shows he agrees with Jay even though he doesn't say it. He looks like he's been caught. And he's also staring at Jay's lips...

So when Jay goes in to kiss him again Sun doesn't push him away again, his hands even reach up to grab Jay and pull him closer.

And when Jay pulls away he's grinning so victoriously because Sun is in his clutches now willingly, the crack in the wall is getting bigger and bigger. And Sun just looks like he wants Jay to kiss him again.

And then Jay starts in again, "You don't want this to go further do you?" Taunting him. Because he knows that Sun does not want him to back off. And so Jay makes it clear what he wants Sun to do

And you see Sun? He doesn't want to say it. So since Jay is so smart and he has his degree and shit Sun (WHILE LOOKING AT THAT MAN'S LIPS) asks Jay to say what he thinks (knows) Sun wants. And y'all the way he breathily asks, "What?" HE'S NOT FOOLING ANYONE! AND HE'S STILL LOOKING AT JAY'S LIPS!

And Jay continues to push Sun. They BOTH know what Sun wants but Jay wants Sun to SAY it! Because when he can that wall he built up will come crumbling down around them.

But you know Sun thinks he's slick, he doesn't say what he wants but he does mention about them being in a public space like that's going to save him...because he does try to run away lol

And of course Jay isn't going to let him try to escape now, he's too close to breaking point with Sun.

And again Sun tries to sidestep what Jay is trying to get him to do by asking him why he has to turn everything into a puzzle. But Jay is laser focused on what he's trying to get Sun to do so he just says it. He tells Sun that he understands him (because boy does he) but he wants him to SAY what he wants. Because he's more than happy to give Sun what he asks for

Jay even accuses Sun of being afraid to which Sun is offended but he also still doesn't do as Jay asks him which basically proves Jay's point. He is afraid.

And then you know Jay mentions how he's not afraid to break something down in order to own it completely. It's a warning for Sun, letting him know that Jay is going to shatters this boy's walls and make Sun come to him eventually. It's going to happen even if it doesn't happen in this bathroom.

And then he seals this moment with another kiss which Sun is eager to return until they get interrupted and Jay leaves him with the flash-drive he was always planning to give him.

And y'all the shaky breath Sun lets out when Jay pulls away? The relief behind it? It was like his trance had been broken and he was still able to cling to his crumbling resolve just a tiny bit longer until he was ready to let it go completely.

And I'm sure along with his relief Sun is even more aware that Jay is not going let him run away forever.
