Ivanka Trump has potentially violated an ethics rule by endorsing Goya products on her social media. On Tuesday evening, she tweeted a photo of herself holding a can of Goya black beans with the company’s slogan, ‘If it’s Goya, it has to be good,’ in both English and Spanish to show support for the company after its CEO came under fire for praising Pres. Trump at a White House event. The United States Office of Government Ethics’ guidelines on endorsements says, ‘Executive branch employees may not use their government positions to suggest that the agency or any part of the executive branch endorses an organization (including a nonprofit organization), product, service, or person.’ Multiple current and former ethics officials have said that Ivanka’s photo was a clear violation of the standards.
