Biography: Peri was a lost fairy, one without a home, one that was destroyed by the Navy, but Peri wasn’t a fighter, she had never been and even with the devastation in her heart she couldn’t pick up a weapon.

While she wandered alone, Peri couldn’t handle it, fairies were social creatures, she needed people, she needed a purpose. That purpose came in the form of the Queen’s Revenge. The fairy didn’t really think she could help them. She couldn’t really fight for them. But she needed to help and she needed to do something so she did. So first she started swabbing the decks, then she graduated to help in the kitchen, eventually she volunteered to help minor wounds.  For once Peri was able to give a small taste of kindness and hope. Where that had been missing from her life for awhile.

Now Peri was more than happy to provide a warm meal and have a warm place to sleep. Well depending where they were on the ocean, most the time it was warm. She was thankful for that at the very least and for that she would help them. Just not on the battlefield.

Biography:

Dodger grew up on the streets of Swynlake Port. From a young age, all he had was his rag-tag family of those who stole and cheated in order to survive. Together, they stole their way through the port, always an inch from trouble and the cold blade of execution. But still, they survived. They flourished. His ‘father’, a previous pirate who used to tell him the tails of what it was like to sail the seas, the adventures, and the sense of danger. Every night, Dodger would beg his father for another story - to hear how he found lost and buried treasures or commandeered other ships and took them as his own. The bravery and the adventure that his father had experienced.

What Dodger never knew was that it was all simply smoke and mirrors. His father had never actually been a part of the web of piracy that sailed across the seas and spread mischief and trouble - it was all just entertainment for his youngest boy, and what Dodger didn’t know, wouldn’t hurt him. Because of this though, it was always his dream to be a pirate too. Even just to get to sail with them. As a deckhand, or maybe even to be a captain of his own ship one day. That’s why he spent most of his time learning the ‘skills’ his father told him he’d need to survive at the top. To be smart, read a map and compass, to know the skills of reading the sky and water for weather changes. To wield weapons and duel... but not honorably, of course.

There was no honor in pirate code, his father used to tell him. An honorable pirate was a dead one. To survive and be respected...to hold power? One had to be tough. Dishonorable, but.. loyal to a point. Eager...and an opportunist.

Perhaps those were Dodger’s biggest faults. Much too eager to find his path to his dreams.

And well.... technically he was achieving them. Dodger Jones could finally say he was getting to sail the seas on a massive and beautiful pirate ship.... The only problem is, they just might kill him for it.

BIOGRAPHY:

Olaf is not supposed to be aboard this ship.

Actually, Olaf isn’t supposed to be in this...world. He doesn’t know what happened. One second, Olaf was safe in his flat with his roommate Sindri, and the next, he woke up in the cabin of a flying ship, captained by the Queen of Pixie Hollow! Only now Queen Clarion is a ruthless pirate bent on revenge?! And there’s a competition to see who will be crowned the next Pirate King? And also, he’s apparently one of the few remaining survivors of their old Hollow before it was destroyed by a despicable human army?! 

Huh. Interesting. 

Of course, Olaf figures this is...just a dream, probably, a very very lucid dream. He’s not gonna rock the boat (haha, pun intended!) if he can help it, just do his best to help where he’s needed. Surely, everything will be sorted out eventually.

Name: Thomas O’Malley

Biography: Thomas was a man of free passion, so how did one end up working in the Navy? Family and a whole lot of resentment. Thomas had come from a long proud line of Navy men, and when his Father was killed in action, Thomas was expected to carry on the tradition.

He had been the man of the house since he was 10 and he had subsequently followed all the rules. He had gotten engaged and married, he had had a child and rose up the ranks until he helped lead men himself.

Thomas left his wife at home without an argument because at least out at sea he could say this future was one that he had control over. That it was his decision even if really, it hadn’t. Thomas’ whole life had been chosen for him but at least here he could feel like he had some control.

The long line of Andersen men before him had all followed the same patterns of life, so it should have been easy for Eric to continue this trend. Growing up his father taught him everything he needed to know before he was old enough to join the Navy. When the day finally came he didn’t think twice as his fate had been sealed as soon as he was born into the family. Unless he wanted to be the great disappointment of the Andersen name.

Still in training, Eric had been aboard a ship that had fallen victim to the deadly song of the Sirens. The waters had been calm as they sailed through the thick fog that had settled. They had lost several good men that day as they jumped ship to follow the beautiful echoing voice that filled the air. The ship took damage, sharp rocks hidden by the fog scraping at its hull and underbelly of the keel. It was the terrifying sounds of the men who had dove overboard that woke the rest of them from the spell, waking them up enough to get away. Their screams still followed them through the night and every night after. 

Getting assigned a position aboard the HMS Relentless as his first official postings had been both a great honor and an intimidating feat. Getting to work under some of the best officers fueled Eric to carry out his duties with no room for error or disappointment. The ocean is the only home he has ever known, and it’s always been in his blood to remove the pirates and Magicks that darken its waters.

Joining the Navy had been a move of opportunity, as all things were in his life. Knowing that the position of surgeon was a hard one to master and that among a crew it may have been less desirable than a high ranking officer it was the easiest for him to secure for himself. He learned medicine with ease and was able to get aboard a ship from an early age. Ratigan didn’t care about the Navy’s main missions and held no fierce loyalty to the state. He was there for the opportunities of travel and exploration of the other lands the world surely had to offer. With a steady hand, even while the ship rocked against the waves, he spent several years gaining the trust of his ship’s Captain and was able to persuade the man every now and again to disobey orders to allow them to explore islands or shores. It was only a day’s delay, there was never any harm in such things.

It was because of one of these detours that the ship had fallen into the sights of Queen Clarion’s Revenge. Unable to outrun the pirate ship, they thought they could out man them. A mistake Ratigan had understood as soon as the Captain had given his orders. He did what he was told, but in the end most of the crew was dead and the ship was on her way to the bottom of the sea. Before the Queen’s crew could decide his fate, he offered his services as a surgeon to them. There had been obvious doubt in their eyes but the hesitation gave him the room he needed to persuade them to spare his life. Having been aboard the ship now for a while, he’s hoping to have gained some level of trust among the crew but holds no false faith at having seen the damage they reaped.

Biography: Marzel was raised to protect his home, his family, his friends, he had trained underneath the waves for years and even those moments when he came up to the top he watched humans fight and kill one another. He was fine keeping to himself with his pod and family. At least until pirates had found them and ripped his family from him.

It was that day he vowed to sink as many ships as possible. Marzel was ruthless and he rarely cared about whether they were navy or a pirate. To be honest Marzel didn’t even look at the flag before he went after them.

The bloodshed was constant and when he stumbled upon mermaids coated in dark magic he had no reason to say to helping them. They become the new pod he was taking care of, helping show off what it was they could do and how much destruction they could cause. Falling for one of them, hadn’t been the plan, but you know the saying, those that kill together stay together.

Once upon a time, Attina was just a young lady. The daughter of the governor and well-loved by the people of Swynlake. She had six musical sisters and together, they were the darlings of the port. They played at parties, danced with all the bachelors in town. She loved her life. She loved her family. Each of her sisters were important and special to her. Her mother was kind, her father doted. She helped keep her sisters in line, even though they had plenty of governesses for that too.

She dreamed of a marriage, of a family of her own, and of the happiness of the rest of her family.

Once, she’d been married, but her husband was lost to sea. Then, she was married again, and he too was lost at sea. She never knew what happened to either of them, but she refused to let her heart be broken a third time. (Not that she had particularly loved either husband.)

Then, despite her vows to protect herself, the worst imaginable thing happened: her parents, on their way back from England, were killed by pirates. 

Attina’s grief, doubled and painful, drove her mad. She wanted to trade her heart for a stone in her chest. And so she did. The begging of her sisters who stayed ashore could not sway her mind. She longed for what was promised to her: all the revenge that she could seek. This was how she protected the rest of her family that was still alive. If she scourged the ocean of every pirate. 

However, after a year, the dark magic in her heart has turned it even colder. Now, she no longer discriminates: pirates and navy men have both fallen victim to her siren’s song. 

All except one. 

A man (a creature) aboard the Black Opal has eluded her seductive song...and she’s determined to make him pay for it.
