Presenting the British Railways Class 33!
33105 Marina was purchased by the NWR in 1973.
33018 is preserved by a private owner since 1988.
33201 (1993), D6593 (1997), and 33008 Eastleigh (1996) have all been preserved on the Battlefield Line Railway.
D6502 was involed in an accident in 1964 when her driver failed to heed a red signal. She managed to force her brakes on, but still took enough damage she was scheduled for scrapping despite being only four years old until the NWR requested her. British Railways, happy for the NWR to take any diesel at that point, had her repaired and transfered. She was given the name Antigone, and has severed happily on the North Western ever since.
D6593 is preserved on the Battlefield Line Railway alongside 33201, and has been since
(TBD) is in service on the Denbigh and Wrexham Railway
33212, the youngest of the class is still in service on the Chester and Holyhead Railway.
33033 was purchased from EWS by Welsh Railways in 1997.
33035 Spitfire is preserved on the Wensleydale Railway.
83301 was purchased and rebuilt by the NWR in 1994 following her time as a test vehicle.
33025 is in heritage service with West Coast Railways
