And that is why I don’t come up with prompts. I just noticed that everything I’ve recommended so far has been a human AU.

Summary: Â Connie Swap is an ongoing fanfic with Connie as the gem hybrid trying to live up to the expectations put on her by her guardians (Peridot, Lapis, and Jasper), her dad (Doug), and the long shadow cast by her mom (Citrine). Connie's adventure begins with Episode 1: Gem Glow and it quickly diverges from there.
Connie Swap draws inspiration from the show but it reinterprets as it goes: Connie is a very different protagonist than Steven and these are very different Crystal Gems. Each episode contains original art and several contain original songs (recorded and lyrics).
Why I Rec This Fic: It’s so interesting to me seeing this universe. Often times in momswaps I noticed that the Gems are kind of just name swaps. Of course the personalities do differ a bit but their roles are the same as the Crystal Gems. I’m really enjoying how they all have a different history and the origins are completely different and everything. Learning more about their pasts is something I look forward to.
I’m also liking seeing Connie in the role of the magical protagonist. She’s so different from Steven and that’s great. She’s a lot more analytical just like she is on the show.Â
I wish I could say more but a) I’m a story behind due to crazyness in my life, and b) I don’t want to give too much away since this is so different and interesting.
