Hello! Are underwire bras bad for you? - a kid who never learnt anything ever
Hello love! So. Here's the thing about bras. They're not physically required, they're socially acceptable. Go to any native/indigenous culture that's rejected western norms? No bras and perfectly happy about it. Bras showed up because men who dominated to social fields were not good men, and wanted to defy signs of aging like lumps of fat on their too young wives.
That being said! The purpose of a bra is to provide support. You'll want to make sure that it's not too tight, wear it for three days max between washes, and take it off at night, and you should have no problems. Keep an eye on them for wear and tear to make sure you aren't getting poked, and wash them in cold water and hang to dry so they don't lose their elasticity.
Under wires aren't near so much the concern as over-wearing them is. You can get break-outs under them, lose muscle tension in your dermal area of your chest (just under the second layer of skin), and even get infections in bad-case scenarios. So, just give yourself a break every now and then. Take them off when you get home, switch to sports bras on every day you can, keep them clean, and change them out when the get worn.
