Me vs. Brain
Me: I'm going to bed.
Brain: nope.
Me: But I need to sleep.
Brain: No
Me: But
Brain: Nope
Me: But I need to be up at 6:30 and it's almost 1:30.
Brain: sorry, wide awake
Me: Fuck

Brain Battle: Temporal Lobe comes out on top!
Brain Battle: Temporal Lobe comes out on top!
Hear ye hear ye,
It was a fierce cognitive battle, but in the end one lobe was better than the rest.
“Temporal lobe animation” by Polygon data.
The temportal lobe is important for many auditory functions including speech recognition.
The left temporal lobe houses the primary auditory cortex, which plays and important role in the processing of semantics in both speech and vision in humans. So if…

Brain Battle
Today the alarm rang like a suicide bomb. The undulating buzz was the equivalent of being hammered in the face with a smooth stone. It was the inside of his head that hurt today. The pain emanated from the center of his brain in concentric circles, the way a hurled stone leaves rings in a pond. If it were up to him, today would be better spent at the bottom of that pond. Breathing in lung fulls of mossy pond water.
Yesterday his brain broke. He couldn’t tell you exactly why it happened, the doctors are chalking it up as an anxiety attack. If they were right, the siege wasn’t over. Warriors, faces painted in the blood of slain enemies, were still climbing over the town’s walls and heaving themselves at the townsmen. Their torches brought fire like a potluck of heat, setting a blaze to anything with value.
Logic and serenity were the first to go. The flames tore through them like a samurai blade through a Jell-O mold of Oprah. The townspeople sought shelter, hiding in the synagogue, each one pressed tight against another. The acts of mental warfare are not dictated any Geneva Convention, there are no moral codes when the mind breaks.
The synagogue’s steeple was not sturdy enough to deflect enemy arrows. Each miniature spear sliced through the building and ripped into a thousand screams. The men were brave, interlocking arms to create a breathing barrier. It was no use. The arrows seemed infinite. The men would eventually slump onto themselves, the act of bravery would go unnoticed.
When something inside the brain breaks, ordinary sanctuaries become obsolete. They are wood barricades against a bonfire. For some, a sprain in the brain can mean a life time of troubleshooting. Since the attack comes from domestic forces, many are unable to find shelter. Unless guided, these people melt away in the confines of safe havens. This group will be found years later, remains preserved in black ash.
For others, it requires a mandatory factory shut down. This means a shotgun wedding to new principles and a garage sale of the old morale. The marriage to new principles may not last, it is only meant to shift the course. It guides the ten-ton train onto the foreign side of a two-way split. One day that train may merge back to its original path, but it is essential that it deviates – at least temporarily.
The old morale may never return. Once a person experiences a facture in the brain their spirit is transformed. If handled correctly, it will bring strength. A thick calcification to the injured area reinforces the body’s natural defense. It will bring a new avenue of travel, new sights, a new world.
All of this comes with time. For now, he must first make it out of bed – to defuse his own suicide vest.

Taeyang: (sang Only Look at Me)
Park Myung Soo: After listening to the lyrics, "even if I cheat on you, don't cheat on me," is that right?
Taeyang: That's right. The lyrics represents a selfish heart.
Park Myung Soo: Then let's say that your girlfriend cheats on you. What would you do?
Taeyang: As long as she doesn't do it in front of me then I think it'll be okay.
