trying to get this columbian boa skull back together, ever distracted by the beauty of the dead
Sheared Moose Skull
This skull was found with the back of the skull removed. This means it was likely a male with a prized rack. My bear guard said that cutting with a saw at an angle through the middle of the eye socket is the best way to both cut the least amount of bone, and to get a sturdy foundation of bone for the rack.
The mandibles were also found nearby, one with a deep cut in the ramus. I was told that this can help split the jaw and allow for tongue removal, which is often a prized muscle found on the moose.

I collect real skulls
So far just animals, but
Can I have yours, soon?
One step at a time, there's no need to rush.
