Vinyl Fridays—Week #12:
Radio Moscow—Brain Cycles (2009)
What a spectacular album by a spectacular, yet unfortunately not well known band. Radio Moscow formed in 2004, and after attending a Black Keys concert, where they snuck back stage to give lead singer Dan Auerbach a demo to one of their songs, he agreed to produce their first debut album, a self titled, and a year later, “Brain Cycles” was born.
Having grown up with The Black Keys, Radio Moscow’s origin story gives me chills to think about, it is jarring to realize how connected the music industry truly is.
With songs such as “Broke Down,” “250 Miles,” and “No Good Woman” this album has become one of my all time favs of my vinyl collection
