me, noticing that I've picked up a lot of the body language and physical tics of the autistic character from the show I've been watching lately the same way I usually tend to absorb the speech patterns of characters I identify with: huh. sure hope this doesn't Dawn Any Realizations upon me.
#like i know theres a lot of overlap between adhd and autism#but I thought i missed most of that?#not in a 'whew dodged a bullet' kinda asshole way just in a 'i dont seem to have any problems socially and am good at understanding peoples#intentions and tailoring my responses accordingly so i dont want to claim something thats not mine to claim' kinda way#but holy SHIT if the physical stims she does arent extremely... 'haha i do that' vine but in a '?' kind of way#and also now that im thinking about it I always thought the analytical approach to conversation of 'oh this is an X scenario so person B is#is using Y tone so I should response with Z in a casual setting but B in a professional setting' was just how... conversations worked???#like thats JUST TALKING to somebody like regular?? except now that im typing it out instead of the reaction happening in .3 seconds in my#brain its like...#...ah.
