How I believe the wiring of my brain went down
Brain: Okay so based on this past experience what have we learned?
RSD: We are a disgrace and disappointment and can do no right. We must make our existence more tolerable to others.
Brain: Wait what?
Anxiety: We really need to be more cautious and self-aware about everything we do, no more mistakes allowed.
Brain: That's seems a bit excessi-
Executive dysfunction: I have an idea! How about we no longer initiate anything. No action, only reaction!
Brain: How does that solve the impulse control problem?
Executive dysfunction: Oh we just remove anything from the queue that impulse would think of acting upon. Can't be impulsive if you never know what to do or what you want.
Brain: But then... how will we get anything done?
Executive dysfunction: Simple, we'll just be entirely dependent on our environment to tell us exactly what to do and when to do it. That way anxiety can overanalyze everything and RSD can ensure optimal people pleasing.
Anxiety + RSD: It's perfect!
Brain: I guess that could work as a short term solution while we're still a kid. So long as we remember to fix that when we're older before that becomes a different problem.
*years later*
Crippling indecision: *screeches in the distance*
Prospective memory: Did you hear that?
Inattention: Huh? I'm sure it's nothing, we'll go check it out later.
