Also, oopsy, made a canon divergence JinMao fic in my head this morning where I finally yeeted into existence kids for them.

Well, I say 'canon divergence' - it doesn't start till after where we're at now, but I'm hardly gonna call 'how I would write it' viable speculation for how the story's gonna go in the future, so 'divergence' is what it is.

Anyway, since people do seem to be interested in what I come up with:

Basically, the international issues get so bad that Jinshi and, by extension, Maomao get kidnapped and get dragged west and west and west and west. Escape their kidnappers, get too excited in a cave sometime as they're fleeing, and end up in a small town in basically France.

Why France? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Feels right.

Still rural-ish village but quickly growing into a moderate size town.

And they end up staying there because Maomao's too pregnant to carry on (and was never able to do anything about it), and they don't leave. They always have a 'we'll leave and return to Li when the time is right' mentality, but they never do.

It takes eighteen years for Li to find them (why 18 years? Because that puts their oldest kids at the same age Maomao was when the series started). A combination of the war that ensues from the kidnapping of the Moon prince and the daughter of the Grand Commandant and them just being so far out from Li's information network.

The retrieval team gets led by Chue, Ah-duo, Basen, and Lakan (who's too old for it and is an active hindrance, but nobody could stop him from joining the mission to find his long lost baby girl).

The children are as follows:

The oldest two, twins - a daughter that takes almost fully after Jinshi in personality and looks. I haven't determined her La'tism, but she has Jinshi's political skills, Maomao's deduction, and Lakan's strategy. And a son, who also has Jinshi's beauty, but a personality closer to Lahan's - he's an engineer who specializes in electricity and seeks to bring his old mentor's (an eccentric local) telecommunication research to the world. He's also working on inventing the light bulb.

Third child is about 12/13 at the time the Li squad finds them. Indeterminate gender (I might just make them intersex). Jinshi's beauty but takes after nobody, personality-wise; quiet and reserved. La'tism: instrumental music, no vocal.

Fourth and final child: girl about 8 to 10. Fully takes after Maomao; plainer looks and apothecary, but mushrooms instead of poison

The boy twin also has a girlfriend, a childhood sweetheart, who's a chemist. She's a classic French Lit ingenue when she's not being an unhinged mad scientist. The most Byronic character possible. They're together because they're the only two that can match each other's freak. Don't worry, they're both very non-gender: you're as likely to see them cross-dressing together as you are to see them in their own gender outfits.

I don't have names for any of them, because I don't wanna come up with them (also, this has only been in my head, like, eight hours now). But I have the idea that they all (not the girlfriend) have two names: the Li-enese names their parents gave them and french sounding names the local town-folk adopt for them.

I do have a couple scenes in mind, but, Jesus, this got long and I have a stream I wanna watch starting right now.

Sometimes, it can be accidentally funny to be a German on an English-speaking website. 

For example, a blog with an url that involved ‘pups’ followed me. A puppy picture blog, absolutely harmless. My (at that time tired, just woken up and entirely German-wired) brain went ahead and read ‘pups’ in the German meaning.

What the fuck does it mean when gifs make sounds? The gif isn't making a sound, but I'm hearing a sound to go with it? A sound totally unrelated to the gif, playing on a loop as the gif loops? Anyone know?

probably the alleged depression talking but I worry that it would be in poor taste at this point in time for me to make a playlist of songs that make me happy because it would be forcing positivity etc
