Let out your inner zombie with these deliciously gross Brain Cupcakes. They look like real brains because the red and black are marbled together. They are great for Halloween or any other scary event. Change the decoration to make it scarier!
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1/2 cup whole milk. Red food coloring. Black food coloring. Brain-shaped cupcake molds.
Instructions: Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and put brain-shaped cupcake molds in a cupcake pan. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in another bowl until it is light and fluffy. One at a time, add the eggs and beat well after each one. Add the vanilla extract and mix well. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture slowly, mixing in the milk every so often. Don't mix any further than that. Split the batter for the cupcakes in half. To make one part a bright red color, add red food coloring. To make the other part a dark gray or black color, add black food coloring to it. Put some red batter in one side of each brain-shaped cupcake mold and black batter in the other. To make it look like a brain made of marble, swirl the two colors together with a toothpick. After the oven is hot, bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Brain cupcakes should cool in the pan for a few minutes before being moved to a wire rack to cool all the way down. You can add blood and gore effects to the cupcakes with red or green icing once they are cool, or you can use edible gel to make them look even more like brains. Serve your tasty and creepy Brain Cupcakes and enjoy them!
