Referring to Baroque Works naming system, do you think Crocodile decided to call the men by numbers because everytime someone called Mr. 4's name Crocodile responded?

Daz Bones: "Hey, Babe?"

*lol* Technically, nobody's ever seen or spoken to the big boss apart from Robin, so this scenario would most likely not happen BUT in an AU where Crocodile is a bit less mysterious at least with the officer agents that would be a hilarious reason for Crocodile to settle on using code names only from now on.

(Also, who is calling Crocodile "Babe" often enough for him to answer with a "Darling" automatically? Hihihihihi. I'm just going to assume it's Dragon because that's what I have on the brain.)

Top 5 monkey/ape species?

ooooh nice one! (gonna go mostly by the species they have at the monkey zoo close to me because I don't know a whole lot of other monkeys)

Squirrel Monkeys! - because they so cute and not afraid of you and sometimes they sit on your shoulder.

Brown Headed Spider-Monkey - they way they go from tree to tree and when it's feeding time, the way they they grab as much food as they can with both their hands AND their tail (and sometimes mouth) and run away from the rest as quickly as possible 😂 (Super hilarious to see - they do NOT want to share!).

Ring-Tailed Lemurs - they look like diva's + the way they're sunbathing with their pussy out.

Red Ruffed Lemur - I recently got to see one sitting still from less than a meter distance and I noticed it had two little teeth (fangs) sticking out like a little vampire~ Also there are 8 of them in the park and when they 'talk' you can hear it throughout the entire park (and outside). Sounds like a major conflict every time, but they're probably just discussing the weather.

Golden-Headed Lion Tamarin - they look too majestic for their size (they tiny!)

Special mention to the Emperor Tamarin, because... moustache.

Other special mention to Bonobos for being hairy humans.

Being suuuuuuuper honest, if I’d realized how many people were going to end up seeing this post (like, thousands?) I probably would have kept my grandma and ma out of my tags. All the people being kind is super sweet but it’s also kind of... hm, disconcerting? (This is not to pick out brandeadmaggot, because I’ve gotten hundreds of replies like this, I just recently figured out how to do the thing.) 

Thanks to everyone for their condolences. I was having a really rough night and writing helped.

This is just fantastic. I got the same feeling I had reading Stephen King's Night Shift the first time.

man I’ve gotten a lot of wonderful and sweet compliments but I gotta tell you being compared to King is pretty fuckin sweet, especially his shorts, which I’ve always felt were much more visceral and weird and scary than his longer work (though occasionally the premise is hard to swallow, The Mangler was fun but difficult for me to swallow, possibly because I haven’t seen that particular piece of industrial machinery). 

I haven’t read Night Shift in for-fucking-ever tbh, might be fun to rediscover that.

Short stories are kind of their own thing, you know? You can get down and gritty with them, without having to expound upon them.  You can plop something down and people just have to deal with it. You can kill off the protag, because people haven’t spent hundreds of pages cheering them on.  there’s no time for exposition, you just gotta deal with the premise and accept it or not. 

I don’t know what the hell I’m blathering about at this point, it’s late and I had a long weekend at work, but I just want to thank everyone again who bothered to reply to this post, for all the people who’ve shared it and all the followers I’ve made out of the bargain. I’ve got a busy week coming up, but I’ll try get some more writing out in the next couple of days.
