I want to make my own ask blog but I want it to feature a One Piece OC in it rather than a canon character. I don't know if people would like that and wanted to know how to go about it?

Hello thanks for reaching out! Not exactly sure if i’m qualified to give you advice as all I’ve ever ran were canon asks… Obviously my thoughts are based off observation, you’ll probably get more insights from actual OC RPers in the community than from me BUT I’ll try my best to answer your question lol OCs are kinda tricky mainly because the fans don’t know who they are. I’ve notice they definitely take more patience into fostering an audience/following. Sometimes your posts just might not get noticed and you’ll have to learn to not take too much of those numbers/stats to heart or let it discourage you. I’ve talked to a RPer and they’ve mentioned it took them a few years to get to where they are now. Also, running an ask blog is just more fun when you’re doing it for yourself- it starts getting stressful when you just focus on the numbers. In terms of interaction, I understand people tend to get scared + shy away with interacting with other RPers but sometimes you just gotta step outside that comfort zone and reach out. If it doesn’t work out, move on and try again.Finally, let your audience see your character grow. You’ll notice all the popular characters in the series tend to be popular because we’ve seen them change/develop. Let your character do the same, don’t just jump the gun and expect people to be able to take everything in at once. That’s all I have, good luck with your character. It takes guts to put your OC out in the public (I have one myself and I still hesitate to make a blog for him) so good for you! :)
