Or maybe Hoennians are beyond human to the point that they don’t have to worry about inhaling volcano ash. That’s also a possibility. (Sapphire is like a superhuman and Courtney can chop trees in SPE. Hmmmmmmm)

As Maxie (RSE) falls on the floor orz style and suffers from rejection, Groudon adds in a little more:

Maxie (RSE) groans on the floor.

Meanwhile, Maxie (ORAS) and Maxie (SPE) cast glances of pity towards the heartbroken Maxie (RSE).
