I genuinely do not think Leroux is Joseph at all. There arent that many hints tying them together other than being French and Old. Not to mention, Joseph's family fled to England during the French revolution. Perhaps Leroux met Joseph in the past. So far as I think, Leroux is probably a whole another character who chanced upon Joseph's stuff and is likely using it for his own gain. As for what happened to Joseph, I highly doubt he is still living normally in the current timeline. My theory is he's either long dead (due to mercury poisoning and old age) or he probably succeeded in his experiments to an extent and is now actually stuck in the photoworld as a young man.

diD YOU KNOW I had an idea for an actor au Truth & Inference fic with other characters where they are all actors shooting the truth & inference series and like im gonna sound so crazy when i say this but i had like a whole plotline planned out for it within a couple days because i loved the idea so much and couldnt get it out of my head.

anyway, we know how messy the dm and bella situation is in T&I, but in this actor au, joseph and mary are really just chilling (bella isnt dead in this T&I storyline Because I Said So) like literally best friends ever on the set(if yall know anything abt me, its abt how much i adore joseph and mary's friendship) and then dm is all smug and cunning and a little cunt in the show Truth & Inference but joseph is nothing like that but his fans still love his cheery, friendly personality nevertheless. and then we have naib and emma playing the detectives. basically the main characters. and recurring characters like aesop playing gatto, luca playing paranormal detective, tracy playing lockheart etc, etc. And then there is one special episode of the show having a crossover episode with another show. which is about lady thirteen, so basically lady bella and lady thirteen interact in this one and the bella13 ship takes off because of their undeniable onscreen chemistry. Obviously it would cause michiko plays lady thirteen and shes married to mary who plays bella and everyone knows this and adores them theyre the most popular celebrity couple ever.

and then on the matter of the T&I itself and its ships itself,,,the most popular one ends up being detective inference and d.m (Lmao) because well, obviously, rivals and antagonist being a narrative foil to the protagonist and everything. And this just baffles joseph because fans go completely ham each time he makes an appearance with the rest of cast and addresses naib,,,,but ofc he doesnt care much its still a professional relationship after all. meanwhile joseph and mary's friendship is also a huge talked about thing in the media, especially because of how many movies they have together and the fact that they practically grew up together. and joseph was the best man at michimary wedding. obviously. and then we have the recurring cast. and the cats,,who love aesop, and aesop finds himself so attached he decides to adopt one of them irl as well. and funnily enough, in the show the cats despise dm but on set they actually adore joseph who often plays with them and treats them. then we have luca and tracy, another pair of best friends who also have the shared hobby of tinkering with electronics and gadgets, they met when they were small time actors and ended up hitting it off due to how much they both love inventing. fans ship them both in the show and as actors but they never really pay much attention to media. gatto x paranormal detective is also very popular and neither luca nor aesop are much aware of it but joseph is,,,it was ann accident, how he stumbled into the shipping side of the T&I fandom, but he's intrigued. He's jealous that paragatto is gatto's most popular pairing bECAUSE HELLO Aesop was literally Engaged to him. Not that the fans knew,,,of course it had to be a secret, that him and Aesop were together....at least for now

Cue way more shenanigans and ship wars and characters analyses and basically a humorous take on a what if scenario with Truth & Inference being a show and all the characters being actors with vastly different personalities than who they were playing on the show,,,,which makes for a very exciting story indeed

what i want to write is historical drama style michimary au where mary is a queen ruling over a kingdom (unmarried) (basically imagine bloodbath) and often disguises herself as a commoner to take stock of the happenings in her kingdom. as a result she happens to run into michiko,,,an assassin from a foreign land sent here to covertly assassinate the queen...she doesnt realise ofc, that the pretty and helpful woman she encountered in a dingy inn happens to be her target itself.....somehow she finds herself drawn to her,,,they have a couple more run ins which michiko thinks are coincidences but mary knows well arent,,meanwhile mary has been getting wind of a coup against her organised by certain members of her court in collaboration with a foreign power.....michiko is involved, though she is left unaware of the politics and identities and only has instructions to discreetly slip into the Queen's chamber and assassinate her. Alas,,, she had really underestimated the smarts of her target, and her skill with a knife as well----that's okay just a few more moves and she can have her pinned down-- huh what's this, is this not the woman michiko had coincidentally met and befriended in the town a couple days ago??? Accordingly mary is just as taken aback.....the hesitation stretches on and on,,,until one of them finally breaks the silence--

Ik this isn't the first official art knight and archer have shown up together in but given it looks like they're all on a cycling trip I'm gonna take this as a sign that IDV wants to push Brynhildr-Richard friendship like sure I'll hear you out netease on the princely perfectly mannered delusional rich kid striking up and odd but sincere friendship with a brash foul-mouthed athletic kid with a passion for the high seas.

It'd be funny, ppl who know Richard would assume he's just pretending and will drop this facade of friendship with Brynhildr soon enough but in reality Richard just finds her fun to hang out with, due to her simple and sincere antics as well as her carefree attitude. It's a bit of a refresher from having to observe and calculate his every move with a person, so he unexpectedly ends up actually becoming good friends with her. And no one can still believe it's real, but it doesn't matter much since Brynhildr doesn't care, so Richard wouldn't either.
