considering what its been like to be a spamton fan the past few months id love to hear about what first drew you to the character/stuff you like about him! or just dr in general if you prefer :-)

SPAMTON MY FRIEND SPAMTON G SPAMTON.

it's so funny because when ch2 came out i was fully prepared to fucking Hate this guy, i kept getting spoiled about him and I was mad asf. And then I was still a little ornery about him actually playing the game, and then the SNEO fight happened and BIG SHOT blew my brain clear into the street and i was like "OH. I MAY BE A LITTLE CRAZY ABOUT THIS GUY, NOW."

he just scratches the exact spot in my brain my fondness for grunkle stan lives; I love that hes just this terrible little man who was quite literally born to run a grift but he still has these genuinely rather sweet connections with the Lightners. he has such tremendous 'weird uncle frequently in trouble with the law' energies that I'm so enamored by. He's so absolutely rotten in a lot of regards if i think too hard about how so much of the Weird Route is his fault I start pacing around and going crazy. I ❤ WHEN A CHARACTER IS A BAD PERSONNNNNN

And also Spamton NEO is like 70% of what latched me onto him in the first place. Absolutely S-tier concept and boss fight and aesthetic and he's screaming about heaven and the music is going hard as hell and I adore him. Every time he gets drawn as a giant, hulking monster mech I clap and hoot and holler like a seal. And then in Snowgrave SNEO is even fucking scarier. To this day he just entrances me. Especially as it becomes harder and harder to find new art of Spamton...like.... alone....or with any other characters that arent Tenna..... cool SNEO art will always have my back 😔

OK NO I WONT. GO OFF. TOO MUCH ABOUT THAT. GUSHING ONLY i genuinely love the way Spamton interacts with characters... i love thinking about the intricacies of his relationship with the other Addisons and how if they just fucking TALKED THINGS OUT. MAYBE WE'D FUCKING BE ALRIGHT. GAHHHH.. i love his dynamic with kris, hell i love what a complete divorce disaster area his relationship with tenna is!! it's just a shame we don't really have much talk or art of his dynamics with More Than One Character nowadays..... sads......

anyway tl;dr i love how much this little con artist he sucks and his associated music is some of deltarune's all time best. I MISS HIM

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

he is such a fucking LOOOOSERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR 😊😊😊💞💞💞💞 i was gonna say this is more on the BCS side of things but like. no he is kind of a huge loser in breaking bad too if i am being so real. I love that he used to have the absolute shittiest awful car i have ever seen a fictional character with. i love that he's 'guy who cant stop doing bits.' i love the high speed tilt-a-whirl he has between being chest-achingly earnest and the fakest motherfucker alive. i also do love that at the end of everything he is Genuinely good at his job and has a pretty decent batting average of giving good advice (that is usually ignored.) i like him .

also the commercials. dogshit local albuquerque commercials are so special to me. fuck it let the character have a bunch that just Exist and Air in canon. just for meeeeeeeeeee

in BrBa: the fucking tiger commercial webisode--his little "i have FUN doin' this job!!" is cute SUE ME. SUE ME!!!!

in BCS: ok. ok trying to be composed here. and, again, still have two seasons left, but the mcgill brothers have been making me sick in the head for like a fucking month and it's such a small detail but. in the s3 finale (episode that makes me feel like being awake during surgery ❤) the fact that jimmy, despite being frantic and All That Shit That Happened Prior, still takes the time to shove his phone in the mailbox and ground himself before going on to end up having his last absolutely fucking agonizing talk with chuck makes me want to run off into the woods wailing never to be seen again. he loved his brother so fucking much. he still cared so much. oh my god. oh my fucking god. im fine. im fine. it's cool. blinks my big wet eyes. GUUGHH.

6. favorite thing to draw?

EXPRESSIONSSSS, SMIRKS AND EYES ESPECIALLY. Claw-hands. Creatures with long snouts. Fluffy, spiky hair. Gold jewelry/features. WEIRDO RELIGIOUS SYMBOLISM!!!!

22. do you have a favorite color palette to work with?

LOOOOVE deep saturated warm palettes....red and orange and violet and gold, always accompanied by stark blacks. Black is such an integral color in my work to me in my bigger illustrations.... black and white are also a favorite. you can do so much with it!!

24. whats a compliment about your art that has always stuck with you?

wahh so many... i keep a little folder of tags and comments and nice asks about my art that always make me smile. This is sort of a generalization of a couple compliments ive gotten in the past but I always love when people say my stylizations and character designs "feel like real people" and the like. When people say I make yugioh characters look like someone they'd see at Trader Joe's. that sticks with me!! It's something I genuinely strive for. I love making characters look like Just Some Guy

As a kid, I was fascinated by late night telemarketers in a sea of static right after the national anthem, telling you all about how we're only using ten percent of our brains, all while trying to sell a Wonderblender, or two, on the side. Our undrawn brain maps of my youth have stuck with me like few other things have, and still I wonder; wonder if our brains weren't made to just think — overthink, make us tip toe and in the end suck all the fun out of everything, and to wage wars against ourselves. But to simply record life like a tape recorder. A tape recorder with a big fat rewind button to like mixtapes share memories with friends and kind strangers collecting around our campfires, and maybe they'd understand me in all the ways I can not. I am still not too sure about the erase button.
