Taking Prisoners
✧ ☀ ☪✧ The desert wind howled around her as she trekked through the wasteland. She had no destination in mind, not exactly. Twinrova had ordered her to comb the desert. To be absolutely sure no one, Gerudo or outsider, had breached the boundaries of the Fortress. While crossing the Haunted Wasteland required certain knowledge that only the Gerudo possessed, Ganondorf and his mothers had been strict with their orders: No one was allowed near the temple. No exceptions.
Nabooru did not question their authority not anymore. She understood the importance of her kings mission. It was for the good of the Gerudo, after all. If he could succeed, no more would their people suffer. The Hylians would pay for their mistreatment of the Gerudo, and Ganondorf would lead them to victory. Their true place on top.
Thus, she pursued each task given to her with a tunnel-visionesque sense of duty. Nothing could distract her. Even on missions where she was surrounded by other people and a plethora of distractions, her mind hardly ever seemed to wander from the task at hand. She supposed she had always been a perfectionist. Always wanted to be the best.
Swift movement from off to her right--cresting over a dune with a nimbleness to rival her own--snapped her attention toward the form. Not a second thought passed her mind as her hands tightened on the hilt of her blades and she gave chase. The shifting sand beneath her feet had long ago ceased to cause her trouble, her sprint as unhindered as if she ran along solid stone. Muscular legs carried her up and over the dune, allowing herself to slide down it with ease.
Her surefootedness and acclimation to the desert served her well; she had gained enough ground on her target to call out to them. Give them a chance to surrender before slitting their throat or hauling them off to prison to await orders from Twinrova or the king.
Yanking the fabric from her nose and mouth, she shouted, “Halt! Not another step! Put down whatever weapons you have! If you cooperate, maybe I’ll go easy on you!”
