We were having a fine day. A walk around the caldera then back to San Miguel. The brakes got very hot during the 1800 metres of descent. We then began to drive away, heading towards La Laguna to continue our adventures. I applied the brakes at a slight bend, which by now had completely failed! I drove the car into a wall to avoid an uncontrollable descent down a hill. Thanks to Marie Ann at Sanofi for help in sorting this out and no thanks to Avis/Budget who never answered any of their phones including the breakdown hotline.
