I’ve just read John Erskine’s Restoring Palamede and it was wonderful, I didn’t want it to end.
Palamede is so kind and so naive and I want to shake him. Luckily I think Brangain will do it for me when she catches up to him en route to the Holy Land

What if after Palomides saved Brangaine, she had to stay at the nunnery longer to recover and he got second thoughts on using kidnapping and blackmail to get his way? He and Brangaine get along really well and when Tristan comes in to save Brangaine, it turns out she could have left at any time, but she enjoyed Palomides‘ company so much and they fell in love.
That's so sweet.
Palamedes: I believe you have fully recovered...I should take my leave.
Brangaine dramatically: Oh no! It appears I still have a terrible headache! You should probably stay a bit longer..
