Heike hadn’t been sure what she had expected when she’d arrived in Madripoor with nothing but her name, but a group of people with the skills and drive to help her husband out of prison was not it. She sat at the desk, writing out some notes on the previous prisoner. It had been such an obvious idea in the end, stealing from her husband’s bag of tricks in a way. Once a year, the prisoners were given a physical examination by an independent doctor to make sure the prison doctor wasn’t hiding anything. All she had to do was make sure that that doctor was her. A false name, a brunette wig, some strings pulled and she was inside. 

She tapped her pen nervously as she realised her husband was the next appointment. There were no cameras in the examination room, but guards on the door and the walls were thin. She only hoped he would play along until the guard had left the room. The door opened and she turned in her chair, her eyes still on her files. “Herr Zemo. Good to meet you, I am Doctor Sommer and I’ll be conducting your examination this afternoon.” She tried to keep her tone bored, a tired doctor on her 10th appointment although her heart was thumping in her chest. 

“Your files indicate that you have no history with violence during your sentence so the prison has agreed that you do not need a guard present or handcuffs.” She explained as the prison guard began to unlock his cuffs. “You may go, Officer Graf.” She smiled as she finally looked up and met Helmut’s eyes for the first time.

“I can’t believe they got you out.” Sharon said, without even trying to hide her ANNOYANCE. She understood why Sam and Bucky had wanted to use him, but it was way too much. She had risked so much for them, because of Zemo, had lost everything in the process, and now, he was back around. She didn’t plan to be kind. “You realize that you’ll be back in jail at the moment your job is done, right ?”

     CHAOTIC ROOMMATE SENTENCE STARTERS

It took every ounce of his will power to keep himself from giving Stark an exasperated look. Not that he had an aversion to spiders himself -- depending on the size of the spider, maybe -- but the engineer’s outburst sounded more close to an excuse for him to not go to bed and spend another night on his workshop tinkering on his new inventions.

     “Buy yourself a new bed then.” But he relented anyway, narrowing his eyes at him. “If I find out you’re lying about the spider, you might as well say goodbye to your precious coffee machine.”

Behold the guard dog of Hades, Cerberus! Not quite what one would expect however as he only sported one head and a beautiful coat of white fur. Almost lion like with his mane but still a canine nonetheless.

“HUMAN, WHY HAVE YOU SUMMONED ME?” His voice was deep, rough, befitting of the massive canine.

“U-um, no I’m not hurt. I’m okay.” she smiled a little bit but she didn’t take the stranger’s offered hand. She wasn’t trying to be rude but she just felt a little bit too nervous. “Thank you... b-but I’m fine. I wasn’t really paying attention to where I was going either...” she admitted sheepishly.

“Unforgivable.” This shouldn’t even be a question that Mustang needs to answer. He holds his opinion on things like these on his sleeve. “If you tell people that trust you and care about you one thing, and then turn around and stab them in the back? That is one of the worst things a person can do. Physically or with your words. You have to assign yourself to a certain standard and stick to it. It’s sometimes not even personal. But if you do a complete 180 on your country or your friends, there is no excuse you can make that will fix the damage you’ve done.”

“Sucks.” Jigen reached up and pulled the brim of his hat lower. “I mean. You think a guy like me would learn right? But no, it hurts like shit every, friggin’, time. You open yourself up around people and then they shoot you, or leave you to die, or break your heart. It’s shit like that that makes it hard to trust other people.” He taps the table in front of him to make a point. “It sucks even more when you’ve been runnin’ with people for a really long time and think that you can trust them, but then they turn around and slice your best friend’s chest open!” Maybe that was a bit too much. The gunman crossed his arms with a huff. “Betrayal is something you can’t take back, and people should know better than to cross me by now.”

“Aw, what’s one betrayal or two or five between friends?” Lupin said with a smile, lifting his hand to brush off the question like dirt on his jacket. “I almost always look forward to Fujicakes betraying me. A little betrayal makes things more interesting! Keeps the fire alive.” He pauses, realizing he should clarify. “Now, I’m not one to betray my friends.” Unless you count broken promises that he won’t fake his death again betrayal. “But if I get betrayed once in a while it’s no big deal if they feel bad about it afterwords. Water under the bridge I say!”

Looking up from where he was painstakingly putting the finishing touches on a scale model of Kamurocho Hills made entirely out of matches, a look of genuine surprise crossed Majima’s face.

“You tryna butter me up for somethin’??” He took the bottle regardless, not bothering to hide the grin on his face - a grin which only broadened as Nishida continued. “Hey, ya ain’t as useless as ya boss always says, are ya! Aite, stick around cus we about to light this on fire. Then we party!”
