Bratz: Rock Angelz Rewatch

Obviously, I have some thoughts.

First: I find it hard to believe that Kaycee actually had a nose as big as it was portrayed. She is Kirstee's identical twin; they would've had the exact same nose. Most likely, given Kaycee's history of stuff hitting her nose, she had a deviated septum corrected.

I'm just not going to trust the Bratz judgment on why Kaycee had a nose job done.

Note: I'm not denying Kaycee had a nose job done, since she herself admits to getting one done, I just don't believe it was for the reason the Bratz think it was done.

Second: I know we're supposed to believe that Kirstee and Kaycee sabotaged the lunch order so Jade would get fired but...

Despite Kaycee saying Jade had to pick lunch up from a deli, Jade came back with a fast food double cheeseburger.

Like, how do you go to a fast food place and not think "this isn't the deli I'm supposed to go to"?

Also, Jade completely wrecked the closet. Kirstee and Kaycee had nothing to do with that one; Jade screwed that up entirely on her own.

Third: They're so fickle. They were all reading and enjoying Your Thing until Jade got fired. I mean, it's typical for teenagers, but it does mean I wouldn't actually trust their judgment on what's "cool" or "trendy" since their opinions on the matter are easily influenced by personal feelings.

Fourth: A lifestyle editor writes about relationships, health, wellness, mental health and wellness, food, etc. Fashion isn't really on the list of things a lifestyle editor writes about, so I don't think Jade really qualifies as one.

Fifth: There is literally nothing wrong with Burdine's shoes. They're pink heels with a pattern pressed into the leather.

Like, I know MGA has an issue with Mattel and Barbie, but there's nothing wrong with the shoes Burdine had.

And it's just annoying that the movie, and later the show, portray an interest in pink as "vomiticious".

Sixth: Who rented an office to a bunch of teenagers? Sure, it's a terrible office, but they're still teenagers. How'd they even get the money for it?

Seventh: How did they expect to get into a club when their name isn't on the invitation and they're not even old enough to get in?

For something that expensive and accommodating, IDs would be checked. If Burdine isn't with them, they never would've been allowed on the private plane, much less into the hotel suite.

Yes, I know, for plot reasons it works out. And they're teenagers so they don't really think that far ahead. This is mostly a stream of consciousness post.

Eighth: For characters who claim to have a passion for fashion, whose doll descriptions describe them each with a unique and individual style, their outfits are kinda basic.

If your characters all have the same silhouette, you're not getting creative enough with character design.

Yes, I know, there were probably limitations in 3D animation back then.

Ninth: Their parents just allowed them to fly to London on short notice? Cloe, who has strict parents, was allowed to fly to London on short notice without any adult?

Tenth: Instead of actually preparing for the story they're going to write, they go shopping. And make Dylan and Cameron carry their shopping. They bought so much stuff you could bury someone in the pile of shopping bags.

Eleventh: Yasmin and Cloe are going to write about the 10 best places to find the cutest guys? Gross.

And Cameron and Dylan are writing about sports and entertainment? Cloe's doll says she likes sports, but Cameron and Dylan are writing about them instead? And no one else wanted to write about entertainment?

Twelfth: Cloe was not dressed appropriately for the restaurant Nigel took her to. I know it doesn't get brought up, but if it's a restaurant you can waltz in, you need a more formal outfit.

Thirteenth: I want to complain about how Yasmin shouldn't get upset that Nigel calls Cloe "pretty princess" since he had no way of knowing that it was Yasmin's nickname, but Yasmin's more upset that Cloe's ditching her all the time. She probably wouldn't care as much if Cloe wasn't bailing on her for Nigel.

Fourteenth: To be fair, if you're going to a dinner party hosted by nobility, a short dress with ruffles is not appropriate. This is a formal(ish) event, not a club.

Thought it's weird that he felt Kirstee and Kaycee's outfits would've been appropriate since they're also short.

Fifteenth: They did not get permission from the random people in those photos to use them for the magazine. This would be a serious legal issue in the real world.

Sixteenth: They're going shopping again?! Seriously?! Why didn't they buy punk outfits on their first shopping trip? They knew they were going to Pinz, why wouldn't they prepare for it?

Seventeenth: Punk clubs are cool, but that doesn't mean they're high class. And I can totally understand why a Duke wouldn't want to be seen in a club.

Also, Nigel is totally not Nigel Forrester IX, Duke of Lessex. He's Nigel Forrester, the Ninth Duke of Lessex. There are not eight other Nigel Forresters in his family.

Eighteenth: No, Cloe, your friends are actually uncouth. I can understand the defensiveness, but they are. It's good that Cloe chose her friends over a guy, but they aren't refined and it's understandable that someone with a refined lifestyle wouldn't think they'd fit in it.

Nigel is still super rude though. Can't even greet Sasha when he arrives at her hotel suite. His response to Kirstee falling off the balcony is a casual "cheerio" and to just leave. Didn't seem the slightest bit concerned for her well-being.

Ninteenth: For "the hottest new club", that place is dead. There is literally no one else there.

Twentieth: How did they convince anyone they were a rock band when they all only play guitar? There's no keyboard, no drums, just guitar.

Twenty-First: Dylan does so much to help them, and they tell the bouncer to keep him out of the concert? That's so rude.

Twenty-Second: There's definitely more to London street fashion than punk style. Even back then there would've been more to it.

Twenty-Third: Not gonna trust their advice on how to form a rock band. It was way too easy for them.

Twenty-Fourth: I'm pretty sure the part where Burdine eats so many hamburgers happens in their imagination. Like, one or two from depression, maybe, but the woman is as thin as a stick. Even out of depression she's not eating a whole plate a hamburgers before throwing up. Especially since she doesn't eat them regularly.

Twenty-Fifth: Despite Roxxi being their new "best friend forever", she doesn't make a lot of appearances in the series. And we see nothing of her twin sister Phoebe.

As a twin, that's disappointing for me.

Twenty-Sixth: There was a lot going on in the movie. It felt like several separate plots.

This could've been a whole season of a show instead of just a movie.
