love, friendship, family... and you
the beautiful thing about obsession (2026) is that you keep wanting the situation to be resolved but not for the protagonist’s sake. the protagonist should fucking die. you want a resolution so that nikki can be saved from what bear is doing to her before it’s too late
After finally seeing Obsession, I get the hype for it, and that’s why I believe small-budget films should never be overlooked or slept on if we wish to keep cinema alive. The movie doesn’t try to hide anything about itself; it’s a commentary on abuse and the codependency that comes with it. Nikki is a victim of a cowardly man, and yes, he didn’t know the wish would work, but the moment he figures it out, does he try to fix it? No, he simply asks to alter it. He completely strips away her autonomy.
Bear is truly a well-written villain because he looks harmless, he sounds harmless, and he's a timid coward, but he still raped Nikki, blamed Nikki for the behavior he caused, and still had the audacity to ask her what's so bad about being with him when she's begging him to just kill her. Nikki lost parts of herself she'll never get back because the man she thought was her friend put her through hell for his own benefit, and that's sadly the reality for a lot of abuse victims.
just saw obsession, when bear asked what was so bad about being with him I heard several audible “bruh”s and “come ON man”s, shoutout out those guys
saw Obsession. most uncomfortable i have been in years. great movie! I never want to see it again.
shoutout to obsession for being the first movie i’ve ever watched where i think “this guy should kill himself” with increasing conviction literally the entire time
“What would be so bad about being with me??🥹🥹🥹” BITCH SHE DONT WANT YOOOOOU
