As Praimfaya spreads over the Earth, Bellamy Blake and Raven Reyes head into space with their friends, and onto what remains of the Ark they grew up on. Close friends who trust each other and must lean on one another, their partnership turns into more and the two soon fall in love. After four years on the space station, things become complicated when they find out that Raven has fallen pregnant. Despite difficulties brought on by lack of medical supplies and knowledge, Murphy is able to successfully deliver the baby without harm to the little one or mother. Jacapo Lincoln Blake, simply known as Jack to his parents and their friends, is born 2 weeks early but is otherwise healthy. He spends the first 2 years of his life exploring the space station while hearing stories of Earth and those they left behind, especially his Auntie O, who is living in a bunker deep underground and leading their people with Uncle Marcus and Auntie Abby. Jack is doted on by everyone on the Ark and brings a hope that the Praimfaya survivors didn’t realise was so essential to them making it through the next two years until they could once again make it to the ground.
