He hated staying after class ended. He hated Yato even more for making him sit here, alone. “Guy claims to be a God, and he can’t even be bothered to show up for a parent-teacher conference.” He mumbled sourly. It had been noticed that the school had never even seen his “guardian” once. And come the day that Yato was supposed to come and straighten this out, he refused to show up.

Yukine stood from his seat and went to the door, tugging it open with a bit more agitation than he’d intended. Instead of being faced with an empty hallway, he was confronted by a girl who looked like she’d been fixing to enter. Averting his gaze he stepped out of her way, mumbling a simple apology.

“Mr. Saotome went to the cafeteria to get some coffee, if you’re lookin’ for him. Said he’d be back soon.” Dejectedly, the blond moved to sit down at his seat again--hunching his shoulders and slumping forwards over the desk’s surface.
