Gotta give Simba's Dad and various verse Dads some love today!
"...That is definitely not normal."

He thought guardians and constructs were the last mechanical menaces he had to deal with, but now they're falling from the sky. A scowl on his face, Link drew his sword, ready for a fight.
I hate robots.

When in emergency mode, the network of lights that ran all across Roz’s frame lit up - yellow in its normal state, red in the case of imminent danger or low battery. She needed to be careful. With her power core damaged, she at least still had her solar-powered battery.
But in this weather, especially as day dredged into night…who knew how long it would be before the sun could break through again. No matter. Roz had seen enough of her animals not make it tonight that she would do whatever it took to prevent that number from rising. "I will!!" She called up before she took off. Her legs pumped to move her quickly through the deep snow, straight for the basalt pillars of the beach where she had first floated adrift onto the island.
Spotlights beamed from her oculars as she used her arms like rappel ropes and climbed down the beach cliffs, illuminating the waves as they ripped and crashed against the rocks. Most of the animals moved inland when a storm neared, but she knew that some stayed in their coastal homes. Eventually - with a family of otters, a few stoats, and a huddled pair of eagles clinging to her torso and shoulders - she returned to the beach cliffs with the snow and icy sea spray pelting against her metal.
She couldn't see the top from where she stood. And she thought at this point that she had heard Optimus's voice crackling across the stone. But with the waves behind her and the cliff and winds separating them, she couldn’t know. The hooks in her fingers sheathed like claws, letting her grip onto the rockface and slowly pull the animals and herself up the side.
“I’m here!!” She yelled out, but she could only project her voice so much through the noise - and especially with the animals all curled into her. So she instead looked up the cliff as she climbed, flashing her beams on and off. If Optimus really was there, she hoped he'd see it. One of these flashes illuminated the top of the cliff at least, and she launched one hand up like a grappling hook to latch onto the top and secure herself there.
He knew OP was big, but he didn't realize he was that big

"Um. Excuse me! S-sir?"
Clark nearly — scratch that; he actually — fell over from needing to crane his neck so much just to see Optimus' face. Only after, that was, his hat fell off his head from the angle of it letting gravity do its work. Golly. That was some robot, alright; the rumors didn't lie. Under the Clark persona, he found himself feeling impressed; even from what he could see and had heard about, this was clearly a highly-advanced biomechanical lifeform which could nevertheless mimic human technology. Fascinating. He cleared his throat, feigning unease.
"I'm with the Daily Planet! The, uh, newspaper? I'd really like to —" he pulled a pad and paper out the inner pocket of his suit, "to ask you some questions! If you don't mind!"
Primus, how many scary uncles does he have?
