Some days I want to crawl out of my skin. Then Aphrodite whispers in my ear,
"Be kinder to yourself."
Forgive me, Aphrodite, for I have been anything but kind to myself...
Me: I'm anxious. Why?
Tarot deck: yes 😊
Baby Witches... Older witches... It doesn't matter. Hear me out:
Some days you will not believe in your own magic. You may think you aren't doing enough, practicing enough, studying enough... That you're simply not enough. But stop! Being a witch is a journey and we are all at different chapters in our journeys. Just because you go one day, even a year without "properly" practicing doesn't make you any less of a witch.
You're just as witchy as the next witch.
Witchy Tip:
So, if you're anything like me and get incredibly frustrated, this may be the tip for you.
Visualization can be such a powerful thing. I work in food service and it has helped me release frustration towards customers in a helpful way. This can work for many things.
Here is how:
Think of the scenario where you were upset, frustrated, angry, hurt, etc..
Now visualize yourself reacting how you wanted to in the moment. (For example: when having a difficult and picky customer, I imagine just throwing the drink out the drive thru window and telling them to go get it or something along those lines)
Do that until you feel better. Just visualize yourself making a mess, destroying objects (like smashing plates or kicking over chairs), and releasing all of the built up emotion. (Side note: this can be a great visualization exercise to do before bed)
Maybe this seems silly and possibly not witchy at all, but it can be a great way to channel your energy and emotions into a healthy way. This way you aren't actually risking your job, wellbeing, or the safety of anyone. Sometimes we just have that urge to throw a chair at someone... Just gotta do it mentally 😂
Each day I am trying to listen to the universe and find my calling...
Something inside of me wants to come out and bust into a million rays of colorful light.
No longer will I hold it back.
Something not everyone talks about in the witch community...
Some days you won't be able to conjure up any energy to practice. Sometimes this will occur for weeks, even months. Sometimes you will feel so disconnected from yourself and your craft that no matter how much you want to practice, you can't even bring yourself to. Some days even reblogging a post on here will make you feel guilty and ashamed.
This is okay. Your craft is not a destination. It is a journey and on any journey you stop to rest.
Just keep going. 🌻
