Y'know what I'm very tired of? These folks moving goalposts about our labor.

I worked the ENTIRE PANDEMIC and they called us "essential." Now we're back to the "minimum wage means unskilled" BS.

They say "If you want a living wage go to school" but how am I supposed pay for things in the meantime?

Reguardless of all of that, if you're disabled they say "just get on disability" as if it's oh so easy. But then you can't have savings!! I'm trying so hard to find a home for my family but I can't afford it and if I go on disability I can't save for it.

People also say that if you want to go by your own rules, make your own business. But either people accuse you of being an MLM because of the Huns that push Lululemon, or they say you're too expensive, even if your prices are comparable to brand names.

Currently just upset because I've been trying hard to sell my art. I don't have half the mobility I used to, and it's been hard just getting people to follow me. I thought I could gain some people to my page by boosting my page with a very small ad and of course, I had some folks who want to tell me to fvck 0ff in the comments instead of just ignoring my page.

It's literally so infuriating.

I shared that post about Ancient Roman Bread a bit ago. Made some art for it. Kind of wish this would help somehow like we all started tweeting #BringBackFreeBread idk just ideas y'all I'm not very good with it.

I'd assume the bakers mark would be more along the lines of ensuring that the Roman army got the supplies intended for it as opposed to sub par imitations. The Romans usually supplied food to the population of the city but more importantly the army, and the easiest way to make sure the army got bread that wouldn't kill them would be to stamp it with the mark of a trusted baker. I've never heard of it before though, this is just a guess.

To the best of my knowledge (i.e. I read it, but haven't checked multiple sources to confirm it), bread fraud is the source of the baker's dozen. There were laws mandating the weights that bread products had to be to count as the customer getting what they paid for. To prevent the risk of accidentally going under the mandated weights, bakers would often throw an extra item in, because the penalties were harsh. Then it just became tradition.
