Awww, thank you so much! I’m very much standing on the shoulders of giants in this fandom; I still find it kind of hard to believe how accepting and sweet everyone is and it’s vaguely liberating to have a space where I can ramble about the implications of a thing I love and/or make dumb jokes about it and know that I’m among people who get all of the references (the fact that they actually find it funny is unexpected but icing on the cake).

wherever Meyer is. Charlie’s much more attached to his creature comforts so aside from bed he catnaps on the couch, if it’s down to him, but as much as he likes being comfy he likes Meyer better, so if they’re up late and Meyer’s in the zone doing the books, Charlie will sack out over the desk rather than going to bed without Meyer. if Meyer’s not too absorbed to notice Charlie’s fading he’ll move the whole operation to the bedroom and do his work in there so Charlie can sleep.

the game they’d destroy everyone else at

he cleans house in dice games, his nickname came from somewhere, after all. for modern au he wipes the floor with people in basically any and all fighters, like to the point where it’s a good thing he doesn’t know tournaments are a thing because he’d just. win. all of them.

like a little bitch, holy shit, he’s snippy and sarcastic and fighty and this is why Meyer makes sure he gets his sleep, because sleep-deprived!Charlie is way more bullshit than he ever wants to deal with. it should be noted though that by ‘26 or ‘27 he’s started to become more like Meyer in that only the people who can see the mask slip get the brunt of this. and by ‘29? business associates only get the mask. always.

their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights. or mornings. or whenever.

also coffee, but where Meyer takes his black with maybe one sugar if the desire strikes, Charlie has SO MANY SUGARS and probably cream, and if we’re talking modern au he gets some horrifying monstrosity from Starbucks with like six pumps of whatever flavor syrup he feels like that day and whipped cream and chocolate/caramel drizzle and then he puts even more sugar in it and he gets it extra hot. Charlie’s sweet tooth is appalling, okay.

how they like to comfort/care for themselves when they’re in a slump

he gets into bar fights and when he comes home still busted up Meyer fucks him through the mattress.

he’s not gonna be on Broadway any time soon but his singing’s nice enough to listen to. his singing voice slips a little higher than his speaking voice, I think, so he’s probably a tenor I think, I don’t know anything about vocal ranges don’tkillme.

Tell us more about Meyer/Charlie and food!

oh GOD MY FEELINGS ABOUT MEYER AND CHARLIE AND FOOD UGH they’re not even all that well defined, really, it’s just all these nebulous emotions about it. I just feel like there’s something really important and intimate about eating with someone and giving someone you care about food, like it’s obviously essential to life and providing someone with essentials is an intimacy thing, plus when you factor in the element of knowing someone’s preferences it becomes even more of an indication of closeness, like you have to spend a good deal of time with someone to learn their tastes and if you care about them you’re going to take it into consideration, so, yeah, food is a big indicator of emotional intimacy for me. as a result I have a lot of feelings about, first off, re: BWE in particular, the one scene in Two Impostors where they’re discussing “Magaddino” because there’s half finished sandwiches on the table, so it’s like. this little insight into their daily routine and it’s domestic and cute and I love it

and then there’s the near CONSTANT mentions of how much Charlie liked Jewish food in the stuff I’ve read? like it was one of the top things he missed in prison and in Sicily, and Meyer brings him food when he’s transferred and he SPECIFICALLY BROUGHT THE PICKLES CHARLIE LOVED ENOUGH TO ORDER BY THE BAGFUL WHEN HE WAS LIVING IN THE WALDORF, and if Meyer was on the Laura Keene he brought him kosher food then too and he took Charlie to dinner in Havana and they met up for breakfast whenever they could in the MIDDLE OF THE CASTELLAMMARESE WAR and just ugh it’s so important to me, how often stuff on them mentions them eating together and especially how often it talks about Meyer bringing Charlie food because it’s a really obvious but really instrumental way to take care of someone, and there’s something to be said about Meyer taking care of anyone, the guy was categorically horrible at being a functioning human with feelings and healthy relationships, and yet. here he is. making sure Charlie’s got the food he likes whenever he can manage it. don’t even look at me I’m a wreck

ETA: AND ALSO in Charlie and Meyer’s particular case, they grew up poor and in relatively big families, so always knowing they’d have food and especially providing food for each other is even MORE significant with that as part of their backgrounds and because it’s a shared background the contextualization is the same for the both of them and I cannot BELIEVE I forgot to add that it’s ALSO SUPER IMPORTANT
