Okay, so I'd love to have my mutuals weigh in on this.
Sweetpea volunteers at a local theater/music venue and they are doing a volunteer appreciation night this month.
Now, every year they pick a theme for the party and encourage people to dress up. For example, last year when they did Alice in Wonderland as a theme there were a couple Alices, a handful of white rabbits, and a lot of Mad Hatters.
But this year the theme is Motown, which leads to my question:
Is it in poor taste to ask a bunch of old white people to dress up as famous black musicians?
Yes, that is bound to be trouble
Probably not if they do it carefully
No, they clearly meant well
