apparently the new york times invented a hitherto unknown british traditional delicacy of "breakfast pie" and while this does not actually exist I would like to suggest that fry-up in a pie would not be very good and what WOULD be very good is to draw on the strong south asian thread in our rich culinary tapestry and fill a puff pastry case with spiced potatoes and chana masala. layers of flaky deliciousness! like and yet unlike a samosa! there's potatoes in it! breakfast pie!
