Whumptober 2024 No. 26- Breakfast Table

this one is pretty short, but I hope you like it all the same!

Villain sat Hero down at the breakfast table. They put a steaming bowl of oatmeal in front of them. Hero sighed, their face somber. They knew it wasn’t just apples and cinnamon in there.

“Come now, Hero, breakfast is the most important meal of the day~” Villain said.

As they spoke, they sat down opposite Hero, with their own bowl of oatmeal. The terms of Hero’s captivity were clear, do as told, and nothing bad would happen to the city. If not, not only would Hero be punished, but the civilians as well. So, Hero picked up their spoon and took the first bite of breakfast. It was sickeningly sweet.

“Don’t look so glum, darling,” Villain said as they ate, “I made it just for you. Today is going to be a wonderful day!”

“For some of us,” Hero agreed, already feeling their body turn to lead.

“Really this is a win for both of us, you stay out of the way of my plans, and I give you everything you could ever want. A perfect transaction!”

“So you’ve been saying,” Hero slurred.

“And it doesn’t hurt that you’re exceptionally attractive,” Villain added.

Hero nearly choked on their breakfast, whether from shock or a lack of energy to swallow, they weren’t sure. Villain tutted, coming over and pounding on their back. Once the choking stopped, Villain offered Hero a bit of water, and they did manage to swallow that.

Hero fell limp in the chair, unable to lift the spoon to eat anymore. Villain cooed, picking them up in a bridal carry. They deposited Hero on the couch and put a TV remote in their hand, closing their fingers around it gently.

“That won’t wear off for a few hours, which gives me plenty of time to have some fun,” Villain said, “remember not to watch too much TV, I wouldn’t want those pretty eyes to get strained.”

Hero fell asleep just as soon as Villain left the lair.
