Daydreams and Computer Screens
@piplupfluffwritingstuff2
this is where I write stuff. I write about superheroes, sickfic, hurt/comfort whump, fluff, and writing prompts check my pinned post for request status, masterlist, and rules!
My favorite tropes include but are not limited to: drugging, restraints, betrayal for their own good, yandere whumper/carewhumper, carewhumpers in general, ice powered heroes, hero whumpees, nonhuman whump (any role), superhero whump, ice powers, gagging, sensory deprivation, most sickfic tropes, and loss of consciousness.
I have a few squicks when it comes to writing, especially for whump. I don’t write anything explicit or nsfw, fetish content, or anything out of my comfort zone. My number one squick is amputation/dismemberment of any kind so PLEASE don't ask for it! This includes removal of any body part, even if it's just a small one. Please no eye whump either (blindfolding is fine). Please no bathroom stuff either. Also, I prefer to stay away from character deaths, except in rare cases, but even then, it's usually a bad guy that's getting offed. Anyway, just thought I’d put that out there!
Fandoms I'm in include: Marvel, DC, Lord of the Rings, Miraculous Ladybug, Avatar the Last Airbender, Disney, Star Wars, Winx Club, Nintendo, and probably others. If you need clarification or specific parts of a fandom just ask. Note- just because I'm in the fandom doesn't necessarily mean I'll write for it!!
I am always always ALWAYS totally 100% okay with fanart of my work or my OCs! PLEASE feel free to create some! Just make sure you tag me so I can see!
I love getting questions about my OCs, please ask as many as you want!!
I reserve the right to not write anything I don't want to. I'm doing this for fun after all, and I don't always feel like writing everything that comes my way. I want this to be fun for me, and I don't want to force myself to write something if my heart isn't in it- after all, wouldn't you prefer a snippet written with enthusiasm than a half-baked one typed up out of obligation?
Please remember I am a real person behind the screen with real feelings. I'm not a machine and I'm not infallible.
As of October 26th, 2025, you can find my work under the tag #piplup's stuff
Don't repost my stuff please and thank you! Reblogs are heavily encouraged though!
Whumpee is often left gagged when Whumper isn't around. After a while, they start to chew and bite it. Is it out of boredom? Anxiety? Something else? Who knows, but it drives Whumper up the wall because they're having to replace equipment every few months.
Blood Thicker Than Frozen Water- Chapter 3- Family (Nightwing x Reader Fic)
Series Masterlist
Dick had been gone for much longer than a few minutes. Y/N had drifted off in the ridiculously soft bed by the time he got back, and the rays of the morning had started to peek through the tiny gap in the curtains.
A dip in the mattress told Y/N he had sat down next to her. Dick rubbed her back a few times.
“Hey,” he said, “I need to talk to you.”
Y/N hugged her pillow tighter, screwing her eyes shut. She didn’t want to go back to reality just yet.
“Y/N,” Dick said.
“No.”
“Come on, Alfred made pancakes.”
Oh, very well.
Y/N trundled out of bed, rubbing her eyes. When she got down to the dining room, she wasn’t expecting to see the entire household waiting for her.
“Heyyyy Y/N,” Stephanie greeted.
Duke, Cass, Stephanie, Tim, Damian, and even Jason and Barbara for some reason, were all at their designated seats. Dick, ever the gentleman, pulled Y/N’s chair out for her and pushed it in once she was seated. He took the spot next to her. Alfred set at least five towering stacks of pancakes on the table. Everyone grabbed the amount they wanted, and they were being unusually well-behaved about it. Almost like they were stuck at some charity benefit or gala… as if their minds were elsewhere. No one was saying a word, but they each kept casting little glances toward Y/N.
“All right, what is it?” Y/N asked.
Y/N wasn’t an active crime-fighting detective, but even she could tell that the group was hiding something; something they seemed worried about.
Fortunately for them, Bruce came in that very moment, nursing what looked like a burn on his wrist.
“We apprehended Mr. Freeze shortly after Dick extracted you. He’s being held securely inside Arkham Asylum.”
“That’s good,” Y/N said quickly.
Everyone went back to eating.
“All right, I gotta go,” Duke said, standing up, “let me know how it goes.”
“Where are you going?” Y/N asked.
Duke gave her a quizzical look. She took in the sight of him. He was dressed in his suit. Oh. Right.
“See you guys later!” Signal slipped his helmet on, and he left the hall.
“Soooo, Y/N,” Jason started, “how was the first kidnapping?”
Barbara bopped him on the shoulder.
“What? We’ve all been through it. And let me tell you, some captors are way better than others. Take Riddler. He usually just wants someone to listen to him. Scarecrow, on the other hand? Yeah, he’s awful. Usually wants to test a new strain of fear toxin while you wait for someone else to show up and grab you. It’s not like you can fight these guys without giving something away, well, I guess you could-”
“What is that supposed to mean?” Y/N blurted, the nervousness evident in her voice.
“I just meant you could fight them off because you have no alter-ego to keep under wraps,” Jason said, tilting his head, “unless you wanna tell us something we don’t know. Are you secretly Batgirl number four?”
He was joking, but it only made Y/N more uneasy.
“Oh for goodness’ sake,” Damian muttered, “we all must stop pretending as if we do not all know of the elephant on the roof.”
“Elephant in the room,” Tim amended.
“What?” Damian said, “that makes no sense. An elephant could not get through the doorway.”
“Well, it couldn’t get on the roof, either, now could it?”
“Besides the point. Y/N, Grayson ran a test with your DNA sample and it confirms your suspicions.”
“What suspicions?” Y/N squeaked, then, at a normal pitch, “I don’t have any suspicions. And Dick shouldn’t be running DNA tests on me.”
She glared at him as she spoke that last part. Dick gave her a sympathetic look, but not an apologetic one.
“The suspicion that Mr. Freeze is your biological father,” Damian said.
The whole room fell dead silent. Someone’s fork dropped onto their plate. Everyone stared at Y/N. A couple of birds chattered outside the window. Y/N pushed her chair out and stood. She started to back away.
“I’m sorry,” she said quietly, “I didn’t know, I didn’t mean to be related- I would never do what he does- I’m sorry-”
Dick rose and closed the distance between them. He hugged her tightly.
“What are you apologizing for?” he asked.
“My dad is a supervillain!” Tears brimmed in Y/N’s eyes, “I thought if you found out you would think I was… I don’t know… I don’t know!”
“How long have you known about this?” Dick prompted gently.
“Like, I don’t know, since last night? But I wasn’t totally sure until Damian-”
“Exactly. You barely had a minute to process it, much less decide what to do with the information.”
More chairs scraped across the dining room floor until Jason, Tim, Damian, Cass, Steph, and Babs were circled around the two of them. A huge group hug formed while Y/N began to sob.
“My father was a bad man,” Cass said, “and I am family.”
“My dad was literally Cluemaster,” Steph added, “and no one’s mad at me for it.”
“My mother is an infamous assassin,” Damian said, “and I am the heir to the mantle of the Batman.”
“You can’t control where you came from, and no one here is gonna ask you to,” Tim said.
Y/N’s body sagged in relief, letting her friends support it instead. She let out a shuddering sigh.
“Ahem.”
The hug broke apart as the group turned to look at Alfred.
“Was my cooking subpar, then?” he asked, quirking a brow.
They all looked to the half-eaten pancakes on the table. Everyone scurried back to their seats and resumed working on their breakfast.
“All good here, Alfred!”
“Thanks, Alfred!”
“You’re amazing, Alfred!”
Alfred seemed satisfied for the moment, then brought over a tray with an envelope on it. He held it beside Y/N.
The receiving address was that of her apartment, not Wayne Manor.
“We went and got your stuff for you this morning,” Dick said, “and that was in your mailbox.”
Y/N opened the envelope and read the contents of the letter. As she did so, she became more and more troubled.
“It’s from him,” she said, “he wants me to visit him.”
“Do you want to visit him?” Bruce asked.
“No. Yes? I don’t know,” Y/N said.
“You don’t have to decide right now,” Dick said, “and whatever you do decide, you don’t have to go through it alone.”
The others voiced their whole-hearted agreement between mouthfuls of pancake. Y/N finally started her own breakfast while the letter sat open on the table. Whatever happened, she had her family here to get her through it.
Blood Thicker Than Frozen Water- Chapter 2- The Rescue (Nightwing x Reader Fic)
Series Masterlist
This part is a bit longer, so most of it will be under the cut!
Y/N bolted upright.
“Welcome back,” Mr. Freeze sighed, “I hope you will decide to remain calm now.”
She felt the side of her forehead. The cut that had been there was neatly stitched up with expert precision.
“You have questions,” Mr. Freeze said, “I can see it in your eyes.”
“What do you want with me?” Y/N asked quietly.
She wasn’t sure why she was asking. She knew what was going on. He was probably trying to lure Nightwing out by kidnapping her. He must have seen him leaving through her window at night and had drawn some conclusions. Knowing Dick though, Freeze was going to get a lot more than he bargained for.
Mr. Freeze reached his hand out towards Y/N’s face, and she instinctively flinched. He seemed hurt by this for some reason.
“I apologize, Y/N,” he said, “it is not my intention to frighten.”
“How do you know my name?” Y/N squeaked.
“Well, it was I who gave it to you.”
Y/N’s brow furrowed, trying to process what he had just said. Was he implying…?
There was a loud crashing sound from the other side of the door, followed by grunts, groans, screams, and the faint hum of electricity.
“We need to leave,” Mr. Freeze said, “come.”
Y/N shakily got to her feet, but almost fell back down. Freeze steadied her just as Nightwing kicked the door down. She and the supervillain both turned to look. Even though the mask covered his eyes, Y/N could tell he looked ready to kill.
“Move away from the girl,” he ordered.
“You are not going to take her from me,” Mr. Freeze said, “run away while you can.”
As he spoke, he pulled Y/N in close against him and pulled his cryo-gun from its holster. At the same time, Nightwing threw a wing ding, which got Freeze right on the wrist. He cried out, accidently firing an ice beam up the wall and through the ceiling. Nightwing took the opportunity to charge, zapping the supervillain with one of his ecrisma sticks and grabbing Y/N at the same time.
He fired a grappling hook through his stick and pulled Y/N flush against his chest. The hook shot up through the hole in the ceiling and gripped the rafters on the floor above. The cord was good and taut.
“Hang on,” he said.
They flew up at the press of a button. Y/N held on for dear life while Mr. Freeze shouted to his remaining henchmen below. Nightwing set her down on the roof, retracting the grappling hook back into the stick.
“Are you hurt?” he asked.
“No,” Y/N said.
“Really?” he asked.
His thumb brushed over the stitched cut on her forehead. His scowl deepened.
“I’m going to murder them,” he muttered.
Without warning, he swept Y/N up in a bridal carry and bolted across the rooftop.
“I can walk!” Y/N protested.
“It’s faster this way,” he said.
Nightwing jumped across buildings and leapt over ledges. If Y/N wasn’t so distracted and full of adrenaline, then she would have probably made a joke about Subway Surfers.
After climbing down a fire escape, Nightwing skidded to a halt next to his motorcycle. He fixed a helmet securely onto Y/N’s head, then his own. He mounted the bike and nodded to the seat behind him. He took off just as Y/N got situated on the bike.
Inside Y/N’s helmet, a comm link opened up.
“They’re not going to get away with this,” Nightwing’s voice crackled, “Batman, Orphan, Spoiler, and Robin are all converging on their location.”
“That’s… good,” Y/N said.
“I’m taking you to the manor, your apartment isn’t safe anymore,” he went on, “it’s gonna be okay, Y/N. Trust me.”
“Yep.”
Y/N’s mind reeled in the absence of her earlier adrenaline. What did Mr. Freeze mean when he said he had named her? The answer was practically obvious, but Y/N refused to acknowledge it. It had to mean something else. Was he a friend of her parents? Y/N had never known her biological parents. She had been brought up in the foster care system for most of her life. While her foster family was great, they were always very quiet whenever she asked about her biological mother and father. Was this why? She could hardly blame them. How would that conversation have gone?
“Oh, Y/N, Honey, by the way, your dad is a dangerous Gotham supervillain!”
That was if they even knew. For all Y/N had to go on, she had just been dumped in some orphanage’s baby box without so much as a note. How could anyone have guessed the identity of the person who had left her there?
A tap on her shoulder, and Y/N turned to see Nightwing had removed their helmets. She took in the sight of the Batcave. She hadn’t even noticed their arrival. Dick peeled off his mask.
“You’re in shock,” he informed her, “come on. Easy does it.”
He helped her off the bike and got her to sit down on med bay cot. He wrapped a blanket around her shivering form and crouched in front of her.
“Can you tell me what happened?” he asked softly.
“I…” Y/N trailed off.
“Hey, Dick, by the way, my dad is Mr. Freeze, a dangerous Gotham supervillain!”
How did one go about saying that, exactly?
“What do you remember before Freeze’s lair?”
Y/N thought back.
“I was at home, and there was a noise,” she said slowly.
Everything following that became a thick, icy fog over the glass that was her memory.
“I don’t remember anything after that. I woke up in there… with Freeze.”
Dick nodded.
“Okay. You’ve been through the ringer tonight. How about we get you cleaned up and into bed? We can talk about this in the morning.”
Dick rose and offered his hand to her. Y/N took it and let herself be led up a staircase.
“Wait!” she said suddenly.
“Yeah?” he asked.
“Um, what do you know about Mr. Freeze?”
“He’s a cryogenically altered criminal that wreaks havoc on Gotham and its citizens.”
“I know that. I meant, like, do you know if he has any relatives?”
“He had a wife,” Dick said, “Nora. Why?”
“I was just wondering.”
Dick studied her features, and if he deduced that she was hiding something, he didn’t press the matter. He led her through a secret passageway into Wayne Manor. There, he got her in one of the guest bedrooms and into a hot shower. When she got out, pajamas fresh from the dryer were waiting for her, along with Dick, who had since changed out of his suit. His back was turned to her.
“Am I good yet?” he asked.
“Yeah,” Y/N said, “thanks.”
Dick held his arms out to her and she immediately accepted the hug. He ran his hand through her hair, and at one point, he must have accidently tugged on a few stray ones, because Y/N felt a tiny pinprick of pain in her scalp for a moment. She didn’t tell him, she didn’t care, she was just happy to be away from that place and safe within the manor’s walls and Dick’s embrace.
“I gotta go,” he said, “the others should be back by now, I need to talk to them. Are you gonna be okay if I leave for a few minutes?”

This is a Nightwing x Reader fic that I hope you will enjoy!
Y/N’s entire body felt fuzzy, like television static. Her arms were limp noodles, and her legs were no different. Any attempts to open her eyes yielded nothing but further exhaustion, and she was pretty sure she fell asleep twice trying to do so.
A ringing in her ears and a dull thumping in her head finally brought her back to a faint semblance of wakefulness.
“You fools!” a voice barked over her, “didn’t I specifically say to bring her here unharmed?”
“Er, but we did?” another voice said, “she’s still alive and everything.”
“Alive and unharmed are two different things you imbecile! Bring me the medical bag.”
“Boss?”
“After this debacle, I don’t trust anyone but myself to fix her. The medical bag, now!”
There was a sigh, like the second voice had just been told they were grounded for the weekend.
“Okay, Boss.”
Footsteps shuffled away, and it was only then that Y/N’s eyes flew open. Harsh, white light beamed down from overhead, and a harsh chill swept through the room. Y/N tried to sit up on the padded surface, but a strong, cold hand pushed her back down.
Y/N followed the gloved hand up the suited arm and stared into red goggles behind a cryogenic dome. There was only one person in the entire world who looked like that.
“Lie back,” Mr. Freeze said, “I do not want you to be injured further.”
Y/N froze in place, her face turning ashen. A slew of questions swam through her head, but Y/N could barely get her mouth open to ask any of them.
“My dear, you must breathe,” the villain continued in a strangely gentle tone, “lack of oxygen will do you no favors.”
She continued to hyperventilate despite his warning. One of the henchmen brought in a large, black bag. Mr. Freeze cast a glare his way, and the man backed out of the room with a nearly exact expression of a kicked puppy.
As Freeze produced a needle and surgical thread, dark spots began to encroach on Y/N’s vision.
“Y/N, please,” Freeze went on, “you are going to lose consciousness. I am not going to harm you.”
The world began to blur. Her head fell back against the padded cushion. All went dark.
I hope you get to do something fun and special!!! 🎂🎁 I even got Leighus to bring you some more water to stay hydrated! 🥤 I hope you have the best day friend!!! 🩷

secretive whumpee who always appears calm and put together. who keeps people at arm length. who is haunted by their past but does everything to not let others know. who sits there while other people share funny stories from their childhood or shenanigans from when they were younger, and know they can't tell anything without disclosing too much of their trauma or secrets they don't want to share. the team eventually notices that whumpee is silent, and someone asks them, "whumpee, you're so quiet. maybe you'll tell us something? i'm dying to learn more about you."
they force a confident smile and shake their head. "i'm afraid i don't have something to add. continue your fun, it's really entertaining to listen to."
"but it's unfair!" a teammate cries. "you know so much about us, and we know almost nothing about you!"
whumpee tenses. their smile become tense and frozen. "i'm not in the mood for… stories." they pretend to look at the clock and get up. "excuse me, i have some responsibilities to attend. if you don't mind—i'm leaving now."
nobody gets up to stop them, but everyone follows them with their eyes.
"does anybody else think it's strange?" asks one of the teammates, and receives several concerned nods.
