The moon was full once again, the time that Kaede locked herself away from the rest of the school… except for one other person. The one person she knew wasn't frightened of her, who would keep her company throughout the night so she wouldn't have to be alone.
Kaede groaned as her transformation into a werewolf concluded, taking a few moments to catch her breath, and to ensure that she was in control of herself. Once she was certain, she would finally speak up, in a much hoarser tone than her usual speaking voice.
"You can unlock the door now, Tenko. You're safe to come in." Tenko had been the first student at Hope's Peak to discover Kaede's secret, back when it had still been a secret, and there was nobody else the pianist trusted more to be with her when the moon was full. - @breakthroughtheconfusion
Despite the fact that Kaede was not a creature of the night, Tenko didn't have any concern for herself, and all the concern for the current state of Kaede. She carefully opened the door, before immediately rushing over to the pianist's side.
"How are you doing, Kaede?" Tenko asked, her hand reaching down to affectionately pat the werewolf's head. Most people might think that Tenko was crazy for getting so close to a wild creature, but Tenko trusted Kaede more than anything. "I know that this is rough on you every time, but hopefully you're at least a little used to it!"
The night would only be about eight hours or so before the sun rose and Kaede went back to normal. Still, it would feel like a very long eight hours until then, and Tenko was determined to remain vigilant until then. But not keeping others safe from Kaede: rather, keeping Kaede safe from those that would do her harm because they refused to understand her.
