Yesterday I found a lump. A small moveable, marble like lump in the bottom of right breast. Luckily I have a doctors appointment booked for tomorrow that I had booked for another reason. I know the odds are unlikely for it be the C word but I am scared. As a human my mind just goes to the worse case scenario. I keep playing over all these possibilities in my mind and i am scared.
idk if this is in your territory, but im scared and its 4 am. is it possible for part of your breast to temporarily swell? like a gland or something?? if not, how do i tell if i have a lump, and what can i do as a trans man to get it looked at in like, a safe way???
Breasts can get funny things to happen to them based on hormone fluctuates. This includes changes in size and lumpiness/general tissue texture. And this is especially most common with menstruation and/or new hormonal birth control.
So that being said, if you are on HRT, there may be some changes that are normal. Consult your endocrinologist or prescribing doctor for what you're supposed to expect. You can also ask them for breast care, as they may either have the knowledge OR know someone safe to refer you to!
If you don't have them, it's also possible to go with your typical doctor that you are out to. General practitioners are trained in basic breast health which includes how to assess whether something is normal or whether you may need a specialist.
If you are not out to anyone, you may need to find a gender clinic or Planned Parenthood to be more assured you'd be safe.
And don't freak out - most lumps you find that ARE unusual are not cancerous. Lumps happen for a lot of reasons.

I'm having difficulty finding a resource on finding safe clinics for breast health for trans folks, so if anyone could provide one that would be greatly appreciated!
There are sometimes when lumps appear after top surgery. Consult your surgeon to make sure this isn't a buildup of fluids or a sign of infection/whether this is expected of their technique. You might also search for patient opinions on that surgeon, to see satisfaction rates and whether others had the same problems (unfortunately, some surgeons aren't the greatest and patients will wind up needing additional corrective surgery, which is a risk with most kinds of surgeries).

I feel my boobs often to check if there are any lumps cos I always see awareness posts about that stuff. But for the last couple of months I've been feeling some lumps in my right boob that I don't think was there before and is definitely much more lumpy then my left boob and lumpy in different spots. I told my mum but she said I can't have breast cancer bc I'm 17. What should I do? Am I making this up or how do I tell if these lumps are cancerous? Please help I'm so anxious (Love this blog btw)
It is very rare to have a breast cancer when you are this young, but it is possible. Most likely these lumps aren’t cancerous, but you might still need some treatment. Also, some breasts are just naturally lumpy and yours might still be growing. You should visit ob-gyn, because even if you won’t need any treatment you be able to stop worrying. Also, I think you might want to read that story, about a girl in a really similar situation.

Radiologist: I don’t see any signs of inflammation or tumors or cysts or anything like that on the ultrasound or mammogram. The best I can say is that it MIGHT just be random breast tissue. Obviously, if you have any further issues, we can retest - but I’d say just start regular screenings at 40 years old and you’ll be okay.
Me: Sounds like a lie but okay
Also Me, reading the mammogram report the next morning: “The tissue density is heterogeneously dense, which may obscure small masses”
——————————
In other words, they don’t see any reason for me to have this random ass lump on my body - but they admit that I have dense breast tissue that could potentially be hiding small masses. By the time I start regular screenings at 40, I could have full fledged cancer of some kind (and I could be perfectly healthy - but the chance is there…)
Awesome.
This is a tough photo to share; Febuary of 2018 i found a lump that felt like the size of a grape in my right breast. Quickly got a visit with my doctor that following week, got sent in for a diagnostic ultrasound. The ultrasound did indeed show a suspicious lump that "i am young and should not worry about" went for a few routine visits here and there for more imaging. I was told to keep getting it checked on. This past wednesday was my 3 month check up, the lump got bigger and ive been feeling differences around the lump. I got a biopsy done, i am now waiting for my results and its killing me.
I found a fucking hard, rooted, painless lump in my fucking tit. Those are signs of fucking cancer. My mum says its probably just my period (I never have any symptoms on my period really apart from a like swollen euterus (like visible)) imma wait but if its still there then Im fuckin off to a doctor wi her or not. Like I know Im jumping to worse case scenario but y'know.
Im tagging this in hope of advice like is this a dumb idea or good idea to wait?
Damn
This morning I found another breast lump. The previous two have both been fibroadenomas (benign) which I expect to be have been caused by hormones in the various birth control medication I've been on to help manage my endometriosis symptoms. It's a vicious circle of trying to control one illness which then leads to other problems. It's never ending and exhausting.
