I feel like I need to disclose the fact that I'm good friends with artists when I post about them. Call it journalistic integrity. But just because I look at Brendan's mug all day facing me across my desk here at my day job doesn't mean I can't blog his shiz. Dude cranks out killer tunes on the regular, like this one that sounds like a b-side off Neil Young's grungy 1995 album Mirror Ball where Pearl Jam played backing band.

This Philly songwriter has a knack for combining dusty, folky ramblin' trail songs like "Diaspora" with vast and ambitious 70's-style orchestrated post-hippie reaction pieces like this one into a single set of songs. His Neil Young influence is worn proud, like a frayed navajo serape at a bonfire.
