Hurt

“Aiden!?” Brenna screamed as she jumped out of bed, “What are you doing here?”  Aiden couldn’t believe his eyes. In his marital bed was his wife with another man, doing all kinds of NSFW stuff.  “Brenna?...” Aiden muttered.  “It’s not what you think” Brenna replied. She looked at her husband, his face was filled with sadness and disappointment. “Oh? So... I did NOT just catch you doing the devils tango with another man? Huh?” Aiden was starting to get angry. How could she do this? Did their vows mean nothing to her? “Well...” Brenna couldn’t seem to find her words.  “How could you?” Aiden said coldly. Brenna didn’t answer. 

“You don’t understand Aiden” Brenna finally replied. “Oh! Then enlighten me, will you? because to me it seems like you just threw out our marriage by soiling it with some random dude. Who are you by the way?” Aiden shifted his focus to the man trying to gather all his clothes. “Me? Um... I’m Briana’s boyfriend” The man answered. Brenna sighed deeply, but before she could intervene, Aiden walked over to her flirt. 

“Her name is Brenna, BRENNA! Not Briana. Get out of my house this instant and don’t you ever come back here” Aiden bend down and grabbed the flirts jeans. Aiden threw them at him and stepped aside to let the man pass him.  “Brenna? Really?... He didn’t even know your name!”

Brenna looked down. “Well if only you had uphold your duties as a husband, then this wouldn’t have happened” she muttered.  “Seriously, Brenna? You can’t blame me for this. I did everything to make you happy, I doted on you. I worked hard, saving for a new house for our little family, I helped and pampered you throughout the pregnancy as you were working hard creating out lovechild, I practically worshiped the ground you walked on. To me you and Ethan was... is everything. How did I disappoint?” Aiden felt his dream shattering. Was this it?

“Well, ever since I gave birth to Ethan you never saw me as a woman, just a mom! You never put me first, never desired me. I was just a dairy factory for that little brat. He always came first!” Brenna exploded. “He was an infant, Brenna! He needed us to put him first and how can you say that I didn’t see you as a woman? To me you were more beautiful than ever, but all my words fell on deaf ears” Aiden responded, Deep down he wanted to cry. All he had ever wanted was a marriage like his parents and a family filled with love and laughter. Not a wife that felt so neglected, she literally had to sleep with other men in order to feel fulfilled. But what else could he have done?

Brenna pulled her dress down over her head, she looked at Aiden who now was sitting on the bed, looking absolutely distraught. She wrinkled her brow, unsure what to say next. 

“Aiden...” Brenna’s voice was all of a sudden sickly sweet. “This was nothing, already forgotten”. She sat down next to Aiden and tried to put her arms around him. “He meant nothing and now you know where you went wrong”. Aiden scooted away from her, still with his head bend. He didn’t much care for her touch or her words. 

“Why don’t we...” Before Brenna could finish her sentence, Aiden interrupted her. “Get out” Aiden’s voice was again icy cold. “Get out, do whatever... I need a break Brenna. This is too much for me. I need to figure out if this marriage is worth it”. Brenna was taken aback, “W...What do you mean? worth it?” She stuttered. Aiden simply looked at her with sorrow filled eyes.  “We’re gonna make it! Aiden, Love, this is nothing... You can better yourself and we can be happy again” Brenna’s replied desperately. “We can’t get a divorce, think about our reputation... Now... You and Ethan comes home and we forget about this, right? everything is gonna be fine”.  Aiden send her a stern look. “Brenna... Just go”.

Brenna was flabbergasted, how could Aiden do this to her. She seemed to have realized, that for now the best thing would be to leave him be. But this was not the end. Divorce was not an option, she couldn’t be the only divorcee in her friend group, not to mention... what would her parents think? 

“Fine... I’ll leave, but this conversation isn’t over Aiden” Brenna said and stood up resolutely. Aiden simply sighed.

Motherhood

Brenna has been having a really tough time ever since returning home with Ethan from the hospital. Not only has her body changed in so many ways, it hurts all over and she hates not having control over her emotions. And it doesn’t help that Ethan keeps crying all day long and she’s at a loss on how to comfort him and keep him quiet.

Brenna doesn’t feel motherly at all. She’s not like Aiden who has fallen into the role of a father so smoothly and naturally. If she were to be totally honest, she would rather hand Ethan over to Aiden and escape the house all day long. She hates how she feels like a failure every time she tries to be a mother.  

Aiden is however very encouraging, he’s quick to praise her for all she does and help her in everyway he can, but it is not really helping. Brenna is just not cut out to be a mother, in her opinion. She gets in an awful mood every time she has to tend to Ethan needs and resentment is beginning to form, as she is reminded of how Ethan has ruined her body. Will she ever get back to her normal, gorgeous body?

Pregnant

After a couple of days feeling nauseous Brenna decided to take a pregnancy test and to her horror it came back positive. This was the last thing she wanted. She never wanted kids and now she was growing one within her. She felt the urge to vomit once again.

How was she gonna deal with this? What were she gonna do? Could she get an abortion without involving Aiden? Brenna thought about it for a couple of minutes and made up her mind. She would call her doctor in the morning and schedule an abortion. Brenna flushed the toilet, took a big gulp of water and stuffed the test in her pocket, before leaving the bathroom. She couldn’t leave the test here, Aiden or Grace would probably find it.

Argument

“Aiden!” Brenna exclaimed and staggered over to him, “You came”. Aiden sighed, Brenna was clearly intoxicated. Why had he agreed to talk to her here? This was not a proper place to have a serious conversation, but then again they needed to talk. “You wanted to talk, Brenna” Aiden said coldly, “Heck of a place you picked, I must say”. Brenna shot him a death stare. “I just thought it would be better if we loosened up a bit first. Things haven’t really been that cute and cozy between us now, has it?”  Aiden sighed again. At least they were talking now, he thought to himself. He looked at Brenna, she looked amazing as always, but she had a sad demeanor to her.  “Brenna, what are we doing?” Ha asked. Brenna didn’t answer. “How could you betray me like that, I loved you and you betrayed me! I get that you had your struggles and I’m sorry for that, but why bring a stranger into our marriage?”  “YOU brought a stranger into our marriage!” Brenna yelled. Her response took him by surprise. “What? How?” Aiden was perplexed. Brenna staggered a bit on her feet and he could see she was tearing up.  “I was perfectly happy and then you bring in Grace!” Brenna sniffled, “You gave her all your attention and then when I finally got you back on track, you knock me up! Demote me!”  Aiden didn’t know what to say. He still had no clue how she could feel this way. Hadn’t he adored her, loved her and spoiled her? “Brenna...” Aiden said quietly. Brenna sobbed drunkenly. “I didn’t, Grace is my best friend, I couldn’t leave her be in her time of need. You understand that and I wouldn’t have proposed if I didn’t intend for us to grow old together” He continued. Brenna sniffled and turned away from him.  “Plus, Ethan is our lovechild, a symbol of the love we share. I didn’t replace you with him, I would never, how could you even think that! Any children we have are born from our love, don’t you see? Not to be a replacement, no one can replace you! You’re my wife” Brenna shook her shoulders. “He wasn’t born out of our love Aiden, he was a mistake. Face it. Just see how he has ruined everything between us. If it weren’t for him ruining my body, I wouldn’t be so insecure in your love” She said quietly. Aiden couldn’t believe what she had just said. How could she say that? 

“You must be joking!” Aiden replied. “How could you say that? Don’t you love our child?” Aiden was starting to get furious at Brenna. Her having problems with him and their relationship was something Aiden could deal with. But he was not about to let her speak ill of Ethan. Ethan was the most precious ray of sunshine and happiness.  Brenna didn’t reply for a bit, she just stood there. Aiden was quiet too, he was still in disbelieve about Brenna’s words. Brenna sighed deeply.  “I’m not joking, Aiden. I do regret having Ethan” Brenna finally answered and Aiden just about lost it, but before he could react she continued. “And that is why I have made sure the mistake won’t repeat itself”. “What do you mean by that?” Aiden asked, he had a bad feeling in his stomach.  “What I said, I went and got my tubes tied, so we won’t be making any more drunken mistakes”.  Aiden was totally taken aback. How could she do that without even talking to him about it first. Aiden felt like she had jabbed a knife into his stomach. They were husband and wife, shouldn’t they talk about their dreams and so on before making lifechanging decisions.  “Why the long face, Aiden?” Brenna asked, “Isn’t this a good thing? This way we can be together and never worry. I won’t get fat again and you have Ethan, right?”  Aiden was so angry, he wanted to scream, but he took a deep breath before replying, “Brenna... How could you go through with this before talking to me? I’m all for you having control of your own body, but I thought we were a team - husband and wife. I thought we would decide on such a big thing together. I wished for a big family filled with love and laugher, but apparently you don’t care about what I want or dream of. You have now clearly shown me, that we’re not a team. You only think of yourself and I’m done. I can’t do this anymore. It’s hurting Ethan that we can’t figure things out and our relationship is clearly hurts you too.” Brenna looked confused, “But I thought this would solve everything” She muttered.  “Well, It didn’t” Aiden replied. 

“Listen, Brenna... I’ll start looking for a new house. Give me some time and Ethan and I will move out. When we’re gone you can have the Townhouse” Aiden said coldly. Brenna’s eyes became wide open in shock. “Aiden... Don’t say that!” She pleaded, but Aiden did respond. He turned around on his heels and walked toward the door.  “AIDEN!!!” Brenna screamed at him, right before he reached the door. “You’ll regret this! You’ll regret leaving all this. I’ll take everything from you! You will never be happy without me! Mark my words!” Aiden send her a hurt glance, “No, Brenna... You have made it so I can’t be happy with you”.

The End?

While Brenna has been busy getting her tube tied, Aiden has been working hard and looking after their son. Grace has been stopping by to help out like before, which Aiden has been really grateful for. 

One evening Aiden’s mobile rang. “Aiden?” Brenna’s voice sounded sweet and alluring. Aiden wrinkled his nose and lifted one of his brows.  “What do you want?” Aiden asked rather coldly. He could hear Brenna snort on the other end.  “Well, I would like to talk, Aiden... Face to face” She replied. Aiden wasn’t sure he was ready to face Brenna again after her betrayal. But he knew, that at some point, he needed to man up an do it for his son.  “Where do you wanna meet, Brenna?” Aiden finally said.  “How about the bar we went to on our first date after moving to Saffron Bay?” Brenna suggested. “Isn’t that a bit inappropriate? I mean, we’re going to have a serious talk” Aiden could hear Brenna giggle.  “Come on, Aiden, indulge me” She said and Aiden sighed.  “Fine, meet you there” He replied but regretted it almost immediately. He called Grace and told her about everything, They decided she would come over and look after Ethan and Juniper, while he and Brenna talked. Grace would likewise stay the night, so she and Aiden could discuss what Brenna had said.

Aiden arrived at the bar and grabbed himself a drink while waiting for Brenna. Brenna had been at the bar for some time by now and was rather tipsy. When she noticed Aiden at the bar, she downed her drink and staggered over. She was gonna lay down the law and Aiden better listen and agree,

No More Babies

Aiden and Brenna hasn’t talked since Aiden kicked her out of the house. They have both been thinking about the future and what it hold for them.  One thing became clear to Brenna, she did not want anymore children. The one she already gave birth to, had cost her dearly and she was not about to ruin her body and life again, by having anymore kids.  She therefore booked an appointment at the hospital to have her tubes tied, not even thinking about what Aiden would say or think. 

I’m all for a woman’s choice over her own body, but if you’re in a committed relationship (even one on the rocks), I feel like you should talk with your spouse before having such a massive procedure done. Or else the relationship has no change of survival at all.

Guess Who’s Home

Aiden decided he would return home after work before heading over to Brenna’s parents place. But apparently he was not the only one who stopped by the little townhouse.

Brenna had been miserable at her parents, they kept asking her about Ethan and Aiden, trying to pry into her private life. Why couldn’t they just leave her alone. Besides she had expected Aiden to come running after her right away, admitting he was wrong and promising to do better. But he never came. Brenna had been furious when she discovered he had taken Ethan to visit his parents. Didn’t he care about her? Was his love so frail that a simple ignoring of incoming calls could deter him from going after her?

Well... With Aiden gone from the townhouse, Brenna could at least make good use of it. Her parents curiousness was preventing her from exploring her desires. Brenna felt a deep and all-consuming urge to feel desired, craved and loved. To feel like a free woman again, not a mother and not a wife. In the end she decided to invite over the guy from before. The one she had met online, but didn’t even know the name of. Nothing bad could come of that, right? What Aiden didn’t know, wouldn’t hurt him...

Snowflake Day

Time has come to say goodbye to Grace, she has officially moved out. Aiden misses her already, but luckily, she’s not far away. To cope with everything he has been focusing on Brenna and her growing bump. He’s secretly hoping for a little girl. He grew up with four brothers but it is his sister McKenna he is most fond of. For some reason, he has always gravitated toward females and a little girl would be perfect in his opinion. Brenna has no preference, she just wants this pregnancy to be over. She feels enormous, even though her belly is rather small and she is tired all the time. 

April had sent over some Holiday PJ’s for Snowflake Day. Aiden had laughed, it was typically his mom to do something cheesy like this. she had even bought one for the baby, though the little one wouldn’t be born yet and by next Snowflake Day, it would have outgrown the little jumper. Brenna had hated it, she had protested putting them on, but Aiden had insisted. He wanted a picture to send his mom as a thank you. So Brenna had reluctantly put them on and she would never admit it, but they were so comfortable. Every day after Aiden had left for work, she would jump into them and relax on the sofa, normally she would manage to change into her normal clothes before Aiden got back. But to her horror he had come home early and caught her snoozing on the sofa. Brenna was mortified, but Aiden just giggled, went upstairs and changed into his and together they snuggled up on the couch with a movie.
