Here's the thing, Bren and Arthur actually develop a working relationship that turns into a type of friendship.
Her brother's past helps to smooth the way at first. Maxson has heard of her. "Moral Merc." He scoffs. Yet her brother is still respected in their ranks. He holds his tongue.
And she's familiar with stories told about him. Close-minded and self-righteous BOS soldier. Once a kid molded for leadership. "Elder." She snorts. She senses subtle doubt in him. Hope flickers.
Perhaps her whispered associations can further his cause.
Mayhap she can bend his ear and build bridges for all Wastelanders.
[Fun fact: She doesn't even smoke, but she has no problem meeting Arthur where he's comfortable.]
