honestly it’s absolutely BONKERS that Emma Approved came back at this particular time in my life. the first series started when I was a senior in high school, and at the time, the business part of it was, well, boring, like Emma says all the time.
but here’s the bonkers part: I’m now in business school, working towards an MBA with a concentration in marketing. I work with spreadsheets and data and budgeting/accounting just like Knightley, and so now with this new series the most interesting parts are the business parts.
It’s really interesting that Emma Approved “going public” is a major plot point, because that’s a big deal for a lot of companies, and I suddenly find myself so worried about the future of the company, and how the Anne Elliot stuff is going to affect their stock price, and whether or not they’ll be sustainable as a publicly traded company, given Emma’s impulsivity. It seems like she’ll have less freedom with stockholders to answer to, and that could spell bad things.
so anyways, I think what we’ve learned here is that in the four years since Emma Approved first ended, I’ve become Alex Knightley.
