Well, I get if that's the way it is for you, but I feel it's kinda unfair to just assume that's how it is for everyone. Most of my own ships have a basis in the way the characters interact and whether it strengthens the narrative or not. Of course personal feelings and experiences play a part, but saying that's all there is seems reductive to me Also your comparison to love in general confuses me, isn't it just as easy to say shipping is like love in that sometimes you have to work towards it, and there might come a point where you have to make the decision to stick with it or let it go? Because that fits in pretty well with some ships I have and have had It seems to me like you're implying (although I might be wrong here) that logic and emotion are opposites, or at least don't go together, and that's something I definitely disagree with I also feel like you're doing a disservice to the people who have come to the conclusion that this ship should be, or even already is, actual canon. Storytelling in general is kind of one of my biggest special interests, so I take claims like that pretty seriously, and I don't think I'm wrong in doing so. Saying they're basically just projecting seems really unfair to me, and I really don't want to believe that's all there is to it, because that's, well, unfair Thank you for your reply, though! I actually do agree with you, just not to the extent you're saying here, haha. But hey, maybe I misunderstood you, and if that's the case I apologize. It happens sometimes, its all on me and it's not personal in any way I really would like to hear more from people who ship this though, about why they like it and what made them ship it. So far I really haven't gotten much, just a couple of links with info on the characters and some of the stuff they've been in, and I already knew most of that. I just feel like there's gotta be something more here, y'know? I would actually love to hear more about people's personal reasons for shipping it, so I think that for now I'm gonna keep this open invitation... well, open! As long as everyone keeps being so nice about this it's all fine haha

i remember he was a big shot from a big city who disapproved of Jonathan marrying Martha cause he wanted her to have a high paying job in the city but she chose the farm and jonathan so clark had never met him before that episode and though he still doesnt like jonathan he gives money to save the farm
@bretonwinter Right! That does sound kind of familiar.

I seem to remember an episode of Smallville where we see Martha's father comes to the farm
@bretonwinter Interesting! Can you remember if he was supposed to have been from a big city or a small town?
bretonwinter replied to your post: Someone tell me Ryan Reynolds danced to Ashes in...
sorry, it wasn’t Ryan, it was french professional dancer Yanis Marshall. But Ryan WILL wear high heels in the movie
OHHH well damn they wear them heels damned well but im also glad Ryan’s gunna wear heels for deadpool 2, you made my night thank you :D
Honestly, I... still don't see it? Like, I get that people ship it, and for many it's bc of that comic, but people shipped it before that? Like, even before all of that character-building stuff concluded people shipped them, and it just seems super one-sided and imbalanced to me? Like, this ship was popular back when Wade would literally have crawled over broken glass for Spider-Man's attention and Peter still looked down on him and insulted him, and like, I know some people like ships like that but I don't understand why it would be so popular? (I do have to admit that I have Problems with this ship, not just in general but on a personal level, but I really do want to understand why people think it's as good as they say. I guess I just want to be convinced to like it, because that really would make things easier for me)
bretonwinter replied to your post “u kno what’s some good shit right there? i’ll tell ya some good shit...”
