Technically there is also the Mini Whinnies which are 1:64 (these are really only found in blind bags)
There is also the short lived, giant, rare, 1:6 scale Springtime Filly.
In 2014, Breyer introduced the new scale with one model - Camila. That’s not where the novelty ends, though. In true Breyer fashion, there was an element of surprise, because there are actually 3 Camilla patterns.
For every 6 models, 4 were the bottom pattern, with the other 2 being 1 of each of the top ones.
All variations were glossy, 10 inches tall, and around the same price as a traditional model. They were readily available from 2014-2015.
The Springtime Filly mold was originally sculpted by Kitty Cantrall in 2001, and sold as a paintable resin for $165 USD under the name Raspberry.
This adds another layer of uniqueness. Typically, a new mold is pioneered by Breyer (frequently through the Premier Club [later post]) and released in a special way (extravagant price point, limited numbers, etc). To not only release a model based on a resin from 13 years before, but as a regular run that anyone can just buy? And make it a brand new scale? This is exceedingly odd.
It all begs the question, why?
Well, I couldn’t find any answers so like me you’ll have to live with the question forever. Have fun.
In 2017 and 2018, another regular run filly appeared: Espresso.
In contrast to Camilla, Espresso is matte, and this time there are no surprise paint variants. The packaging remains almost identical, but unique in that it is not like the typical yellow boxes Breyers are usually packaged in.
I almost wonder if the Springtime Fillies were going to be a series, but a lack of general popularity prevented it. I very rarely see collectors talking about them, other than a brief mention of “foalzilla”, and it feels like they’ve faded to time. It’s a personal theory.
In 2018, the mold appeared in a very limited capacity (run of 20) for the special collector club event Scottsdale Stampede. The members of the collector club at the time entered a lottery and the winners got to pay $275 a ticket to attend the event. When the attendees arrived, they saw the table centrepieces - Peplum:
Not to be dramatic, but these are the only photos I can find of this model.
Something I find interesting is the similarity in color with Bisbee, also a 2018 limited edition with a run of 3000.
The pattern on the belly is so similar…
Again, I wonder if Peplum was a tester or somehow a side project? I’m just speculating at this point because I don’t know. I have so many questions.
The last appearance of the Springtime Filly mold in any capacity was in 2019 for a Breyerfest live auction. Like all live auction models, only one was made.
Splash overo. Look at her eyes. She knows things. She knows the answer that I seek. Why did Breyer start a new size line randomly? Why were there 3 variations of Camilla? Why is Espresso matte, and why was there a 2 year gap between Espresso and Camilla? Was there supposed to be another in 2020? Was Peplum connected to Bisbee somehow?
I need to know.

Hello, this is my review and size comparison of the biggest Breyer foal. Camila aka Foalzilla is first (and yet also only) in the new big sc
The top post of this forum has some good criticisms of the model, and I wonder if these absences contributed to the models fade to time.
I have a nearly complete conga on this little guy!! That’s to say I have one of the two releases on the mold. ;)
The mold was sculpted by Mindy Berg and released for the Stablemates club in 2023. This first release is Brio (the namesake of the mold).
Personally, I think the paint job on this guy is a bit simplistic for the first model. However, he’s still pretty cool! I think he has a lot of similarities in pose and paint to Adonais, who was also released in 2023.
See? Tell me if I’m crazy. I’m probably in a headache induced haze and seeing similarities that aren’t really there…
The second release is a Mustang for the most recent Deluxe Horse Collection (2025).
This guy is very metallic, in some lights he looks like he has bronze paint.
I feel kind of surprised this mold has only gotten 2 releases so far, especially since the mini Zafirah (named Akilah) also introduced in 2023, has had 4 releases.

Minor edit to the post. I stated that Akilah had 5 releases but this was incorrect. She had 4 separate releases, but one had 2 variations.
So in my post on Brio I mentioned that Akilah (mini Zafirah) has had 4 releases, so I suppose I should do a post on those, huh?
The first release (and the name of the mold) was Akilah the bonus model for the 2023 Premier Club. I covered this before but here’s a close up the model:
As I mentioned before she was a matte/glossy split.
In 2024, she was in an April Fool’s Blindbag. She was based off the 90s limited edition model “Cinnamon”.
As @captainsjm mentioned in a reblog on one of my Premier club posts, the blind bags were a joke because Cinnamon had a comically bad paint job.
(That’s not to say Cinnamon was a bad model, she had her charm and she was certainly beloved by many, but her paint job did not match with the level of detail and accuracy that a model horse should have)
In 2024, she appeared as a single day model for Breyerfest. The theme for the year was “Against All Odds”. The model was named “Make it Pop like Pink Champagne” for Ariana Grande’s song “Pink Champagne”. This song was written for Grande’s first album but then scrapped, only for her to release the song in 2013.
The model’s paint job is known as glossy pearl rose filigree.
The most recent release on the mold was an Arabian for the Deluxe Horse Collection in 2025.
I’m not a big fan of the flat black paint this model has she’s still very pretty.
