I watched the movie 'The Words,' and loved it. I can understand why the movie didn't do well in theaters. It was wonderfully written, beautifully acted, and achieved the impossible task of interweaving three plot lines seamlessly. All this without resorting to nudity, sex, or the over use of cuss words. There are a few in there, but they are few and far between. Combine those qualities with the fact that one must think and follow multiple plot lines and you have the reason it wasn't a huge success. This is a movie that should have been nominated for several Oscars. Jeremy Irons brilliantly portrays the old man. His entire demeanor reveals a man who is worn from all life has thrown at him. No words are needed to see it, but the words he does speak only intensify everything about the old man. As I watched it, I kicked myself for not supporting it in theaters. There are two love stories in the movie. Usually I detest Hollywood written love stories, but these are done so tastefully that I didn't mind. The writers didn't allow any story to trump the other. I urge anyone who wants to watch a thought-provoking and emotionally driven movie to watch 'The Words.'
