2. A piece you're proud of and why:

Answered here, but if I had to pick a second one it would be my Rhiannon/Alistair piece! I like the composition a lot, and I feel validated that I Can In Fact draw sexy times in a sexy way <3

30. Advice to yourself (and maybe others) for the new year:

I think, more and more, everything in the world is trying to make you hate art and the artistic process. Both for me on a personal level with my classes threatening to beat the love of drawing out of me, and on a general level with the slow but steady descent into AI slop content. So I think my advice would be to hold onto that love of creating for creation's sake. Revel in that feeling of pride in a finished piece (grades be damned). Strive to continue improving your art, and do your best to find community with other artists who also love (but sometimes love/hate) their art and their process. Don't let go of the fact that you draw because it's fun.

8. Did Rook have any specializations/specific talents within the Lords of Fortune? What did they enjoy doing most for the Lords?

Lydia was a Sail-Master for the Lords! This basically meant she was responsible for plotting and navigating routes and maintaining them. This also extended to when her crew was on land, as she was one of the best dungeoneers in the Lords of Fortune. While she enjoyed both (and really enjoyed the treasure awaiting at the end of a dungeon), I think she preferred her duties as a Sail-Master. She spent most of her early childhood years on a ship and is very comfortable at sea as a result, and I think she gets a lot of satisfaction out of being the one to direct the ship itself, bound to no one but her and the other Lords of Fortune's desires 💙🌊

12. How does Rook feel about being reprimanded by “many Rivaini leaders”? Are they upset at being forced to leave for a while? Do they agree with the decision, or do they think the Lords should have let them stay?

With the knowledge that the noble they'd been working with had been working with the Venatori and threatened the lives of her and her shipmates, Lydia couldn't give two shits how upset the Rivaini authorities were. She thought that the Lords would have her back on this, especially Isabela, who knew her history as a slave in tevinter. When they didn't, she felt heartbroken and betrayed, even if the logical parts of her could understand why the decision was made. It was a saving grace that Isabela sent her away with Varric, who she had a little familiarity with due to hearing stories from both her and Anders, but getting essentially kicked out of the Lords (even if it was only "until the heat dies down") stung for a while, only just starting to heal when by the events of the game 💔

After all the cropping and resizing is done, and after you convert the layers to a smart object, I go filter > sharpen > smart sharpen and start with these settings here, legacy and more accurate, remove gaussian blur and set to shadows / highlights:

Then I do the first smart sharpen with these amounts:

and then I do a second smart sharpen:

And that’s it! 

After that, I play around with vibrance, selective color, curves and color balance to get just the right colors for the gif that I like, usually I like them to stay closer to the original colors, sometimes more on the darker side or more vibrant.

Also, 720p to 1080p of the video makes a HUGE difference to the quality of the gif too. The higher quality of the video the better!

What's the first thing Ellinor and Cullen do post-trespasser? Aside from a lot of rest! Do they immediately jump into new projects after, you think?

definitely not yet! they (well, especially ellinor) need a good period of time after trespasser to recover both mentally and physically.

physically i mean. her arm is amputated, so there’s recovery and a learning curve there as she gets acclimated. cullen is also challenged with learning how to best assist her—when to offer help vs. when to leave her be and let her do things or figure out a solution independently. there’s an adjustment period. she’s also definitely not otherwise unscathed—the battles in the eluvians, plus the physical toll the anchor took on her (even though solas ultimately took it) is a lot, and she needs time to regain her strength in part before they move to ferelden but also a lot after they move into their cottage in the farmland south of denerim.

i’ve mentioned this in a couple recent answers too but mentally, ellinor is pretty beat after trespasser. she feels defeated irt solas, she feels like she gabe so much to the inquisition with little ultimately to show for it, she feels suddenly very purposeless, and mostly she feels lonely without all of her friends nearby. she adores cullen obviously but without her close friends, there’s a certain emptiness in her day-to-day life. so she’s pretty depressed and again she has to learn to adjust and to make arrangements to visit friends when she can or have them visit her.

cullen does a lot during this time just to be there for her and to love and support her as best as he can while she navigates this new chapter. once her physical and mental health starts improving, i think that’s when he begins to look into how he can best help other former templars recover from lyrium addition. i also believe he continues the work he started during AWA to reunite mages and their families.

Any headcanons about the Cousland siblings growing up? And would Alistair/Rosslyn have any kiddos? 👀

Hi! Thank you! I have several headcanons about Rosslyn and Fergus growing up, and a lot of them involve him thinking her a pest whenever Cailan or Nate visited, because she would try to follow after them in order not to feel left out. Because of the age gap (seven years in my headcanon), they didn’t always see eye to eye, even though they got on alright and Fergus was serious about being protective of his baby sister. When they were younger and it was just them, however, they used to hide from their mother’s parties together, either in the stables or in overgrown parts of the gardens so they wouldn’t have to be polite, and would make up stories about the noble guests who attended, about where they had come from and what they were thinking.

As for Rosslyn and Alistair having kids, they’re childfree by choice. He’d be daunted by the idea anyway because of his experience of childhood and being unwanted, but she actively doesn’t want to be a mother. If there’s ever any gossip in court, Alistair is quick to voice his support for his wife, and his disapproval of the idea that a queen’s only worth is in the number of children she can produce. It’s something she’s very grateful for and she wouldn’t have married him otherwise
