Once Upon a Time in Space character designs!

Some notes:

Since the mechs themselves had a few Disney references (the seven survivor’s dwarf attributes, Adam, mentions of the sleeping beauty fairies, etc.) I didn’t feel quite as bad paying small homage to the Disney designs. I had a hard enough time finding enough to fit together without trying to block out Disney.

Music inspo: since a lot of the songs are based on sea shanties, and as the first album, it’s not a surprise this one has a pirate theme. I think the mechs started with a certain vibe and carried it over into the album.

The fashion style is meant to be a mix of Middle Ages (the fairy tales) and 1500s (pirate theme).

5: Share a snippet that you’re proud of from an upcoming fic/chapter.

I couldn't pick for this one, so you get two from different fics and different fandoms.

There is blood on Luke’s face, and on Leia’s arms. They are sitting next to each other on the floor, and talking in a quiet murmur. He can’t hear what they’re saying to each other, but it seems urgent. They are both unusually still; no gestures, nothing to suggest the intensity in their tones. Nothing except the steel in both of their eyes, and the hot anger in Leia’s.

That ones Star Wars, from a fic that's still entirely unpublished, an au where Luke and Leia are raised together on Tatooine. There's not a ton written, mostly because I keep forgetting to write things from it. It features me leaning into not quite eldritch territory. Lots of eeriness. It's great fun. Also features Luke and Leia being siblings who love each other.

The stranger had long braided white hair, streaked with all the colours of the rainbow. The colours seemed... not natural exactly, but not dyed. They were wearing a long black cloak, and had their back to her and Cinders. She hoped they didn’t notice the two of them, but figured they probably would. And sure enough, they turned around. Their gaze was intense, and made her feel like she was stared into, like they were seeing all of her, all her secrets laid bare. But it was only for a moment, and then that eerie intensity was gone.

And that ones Mechs, from the third chapter of Wars and Wastelands, in which the surviving characters (plus some who don't survive in canon) meet and end up forming a crew and a band together. That extract is from Briar Rose's point of view, and features Lyfrassir Edda, Cinders, and of course Briar herself.
