New Release: Defeater - Mothers’ Sons
My second music video release for Defeater landed today which once again takes from the footage I’ve been collecting of the band over the last 8 years (for our feature documentary). The lions share of this video is based around the recording of the new album with Will Yip last June at Studio4 in Conshohocken, PA, USA. I’m pretty stoked I got the chance to do another video that actually showcases the band (something they’ve largely avoided), this is largely because it contains the new line-up featuring guitarist Adam Crowe. We wanted to make sure that this release was something different than the usual Defeater video visuals so I was encouraged by the band to get ‘out there’ with it. With that being said, I always like to nod back towards the Glass family story where I can so there are some parts throughout that keener listeners/viewers will pick up on...
I’ll be looking to post some photos from our time in Studio4 in the coming weeks so keep an eye on the blog as I share some of the behind the scenes moments from a director’s perspective.

Say this is jealousy that I’m feeling? Well, I’m fine with that. You have a certain characteristic that gives you the means to not feel a fucking thing for anyone who isn’t you. Now tell me you’re not fucking selfish. For every kind-hearted word that I spoke to you. I beg I could take back every syllable you ripped from my mouth as I screamed for you to understand what it feels like to not be as important to someone as they are to you. Well, I’ve been on both ends, and my lesson was learned, so I tell the stories of collapsed lungs so maybe the fortunate could get a fighting chance to just cut and fucking run.

Champion - The Truth 7″
Social media stories and politics aside, Champion is great. If the stories are true that sucks, but it doesn’t change what the band stood for. This was a solid eBay pick up.
