*Bridgette kicks down the door*
Bridgette: MARIA!
Marinette/Maria: *falls on the floor out of shock*
Bridgette: *holds Cat up like he's Simba* You're new baby brother, Chandler!
AU where Bridgette is Marinette's older half sister. Bridgette is Ladybug but Adrien is still Cat Noir. How would that turn out?
Bridgette Cheng: She's from Sabine's first marriage but considers Tom her dad. The older version of canon Marinette basically (except a little more overbearing); caring, sweet but mess with her and prepare for death (I have never seen Marinette do this in the actual show but I believe it's only a matter of time)
At times, she can get controlling at times, especially with Marinette. Being older than most of the people she hangs around makes her feel more or less like the boss of everyone. She usually doesn't take advice unless it's from Tikki, Cat Noir or Marinette.
Bridgette has three main priorities: Marinette, Adrien and Paris. In that order. Paris because it's her responsibility to protect, Marinette because she's her blood and little sister, and Adrien because his father is a mentally and emotionally abusive monster. Gabriel is lucky he has good security, else he'd be dead by now.
Points to remember:
- Marinette is not as confident in this AU as she is in canon.
- Adrien likes Marinette. He'd like Ladybug if she didn't treat him like a little kid all the time.
- Marinette likes Cat Noir but also has feelings for Adrien.
- Bridgette is smart. She knows magical jewellery doesn't just come to the 'chosen one'. By the time they took down the Bubbler, Bridgette had already found Fu. How so soon? Because she tortured Tikki by feeding her only celery for a week before she finally cracked.
- Tikki and Bridgette's relationship started out rocky, partly because of the celery torture, but it got better. Tikki still has to remind Bridgette at times she isn't the boss of everyone.
- Bridgette had a lot more time to train and be taught by Fu so she can read and understand the Grimoire. She also took kung-fu classes, which she dragged Marinette to, because by Season 2, almost all her classmates had been akumatized and Marinette kept becoming a target for whatever reason.
- Maybe a Marichat kiss?
- After Style Queen, Ladybug didn't lose the bee miraculous. Bridgette is too careful for that. I'm thinking more of, Chloe watched Ladybug try and give it to Alya, saw her chance to prove herself, and in the heat of the battle, stole it. This makes Chloe look bad, yeah, but she's gonna have a redemption arc. A PROPER redemption arc. Not like the fake loopdy-loop one in canon.
- Marinette doesn't like Lila so neither does Bridgette.
- Adrien's a little protective of Marinette. He absolutely shuts down Chloe and Lila's nonsense. Unfortunately, Chloe can't take a hint if it slapped her in the face and Lila's too persistent to stop.
- Bridgette's outfit in this AU.
- Bridgette likes to play with her hair and make-up but usually wears lilac eye shadow, cherry pink lipstick and her hair tied up in a messy bun with a purple ribbon.
- Sometimes when Marinette's making outfits or clothing for her friends, Bridgette volunteers to do make-up.
- There will be plenty of Marichat in this AU.
- Bridgette doesn't believe in redemption.
