DEVELOPMENT // FATHER’S DAY CARD
19.5.2018
BRIEF FOUR.
On the lead up to June, my Father’s day card with moonpig has now been released! The collection looks lovely altogether on the website, and they look even better in person! I can’t wait to continue this collection on further with Moonpig to see how it can evolve.

UPDATE // MOONPIG
1.4.2018
BRIEF FOUR.
Just a quick little update on whats been going on with Moonpig.
My Fathers day card will be released shortly, to take it to a total of four cards that I will have on their website.
I have also now been set up as a freelance designer for Moonpig, which is all very exciting! This means that I can now get paid for my designs (eeep!).
There has been mention again of me heading back to work with them once I graduate. I would like to get a date sorted for this so that I have it in my calendar and ready to rumble after I finish uni!
Keep an eye out for more updates!
EPP BRIEF FOUR- FACIAL RECOGNITION
Summary: How does face, body or motion recognition change the way the photographic image is produced? Collectively devise a photographic project that responds to the enhanced ability of photographic technologies to respond to the world.
Processing
an application that uses coding to create art
works with facial recognition
Planning
Inspired by the concept of tricking facial recognition we devised a plan to use multiple different masks to see if we could beat technology.
Outcome
Evaluation
Due to being unwell I did not get to participate as much as I would have liked to for this project, I was only really involved in the planning and research stages. However, I am still pleased with how the project turned out and I think my peers executed our idea well. To pursue our idea of tricking facial recognition into failure, we decided upon creating a video in which we used printed out faces to create masks; these included animal faces and even the face of a alien to see how the technology would respond. I think the project was successful as we managed to trick the technology into failure multiple times which was what we were aiming for. Although, I do feel our teamwork could have been improved for this week as I feel the workload was unfairly distributed. As I was unable to take part in the making of the video I had hoped to have been sent the footage to edit so I had contributed more to the project however my peers took it upon themselves to edit instead which I was a little disappointed with; our team communication could definitely have been improved.
IN ACTION // DESIGNER OF THE MONTH
6.3.2018
BRIEF FOUR.
Designer of the month feature up in action on Moonpig’s instagram!
PROGRESS // DESIGNER OF THE MONTH
6.3.2018
BRIEF FOUR.
As part of the launch of my range, A Token Gesture, Moonpig marketing team are launching a “Designer of the Month” feature on me for March. The feature is going to helpfully launch the new range, with the valentines card run as a test, so this will make more people aware. The focus is being held on Mothers day, which is just around the corner so makes sense!
This goes live today! Go check it out on their instagram - the pictures shown above are going to be included in the feature, as well as a Boomerang I have done and some other imagery. Exciting!

DEVELOPMENT // MOONPIG UPDATE
20.2.2018
BRIEF FOUR.
Today I have been in contact with the team at Moonpig, where I sent over my design options for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. The feedback from this currently was that they liked the blue and pink designs, however Geoff is going to talk to the rest of the team to see what the general vibe is. I am currently unsure whether they would like me to do concertina card versions for these holidays, so I am waiting to hear back about this. I am also in the process of being set up with them as a freelance designer, which may take some time but is still very exciting!
I have also emailed over some imagery to marketing ready for my Designer of the Month feature in March. The only thing I haven’t done for this is my boomerang, however I am not too well at the moment so not looking my finest! I will be sending this over by the end of the week.
