I had two moments today where I got to share a brief moment of joy and curiosity with strangers.
At the library, expressing my excitement upon finding the third installment of the series I’m reading is nearly 700 instead of 400 so I get more book than expected and the librarian was clearly stoked for me too. We shouted a little happiness. It was so nice.
And then I went for munchies and found a whatchamacallit which is a candy bar I much enjoy but then I found a whoseewhatsit which is similar but more chocolate and peanut butter and the cashier was like “I’ve never seen these” and I explained I was doing an experiment me and he’s like “ah a case study, you’ll have to let me know” and I was like “you bet I will”. It was just fun and careless and he was clearly enjoying himself.
I dunno. I’m trying really hard to be hopeful instead of hateful.
